With backup QBs…one against a stout Florida team…would be enough to overcome the injury clause of the CFB selection guidelines.

But no. Saban is a whiny bitch and college football has been destroyed by money.

Some kids who went 13-0 won’t get the shot at a title they deserve.

It's not sabans fault. The committee is as corrupt as our government.

This was the only year the sec didnt have a team worthy of being in the playoff.

I got the best of both worlds in this. 1) A SEC Team got in that was expected 2) It was Bama and everyone hates that motherfricker.

Yeah I threw that in there for laughs.

But remember, the Gators were leading in the 3rd quarter in TS. LSU fans weren’t laughing at the time.

It's hilarious how many people are trying to talk up the Florida win now. Let's pretend that was a peak Swamp environment with a UF team that didn't drop its last 5 games of the season including a loss to Arkansas who barely generated offense after departing Gainesville.

We had leads in several of those losses.

Gators were competitive.

An SEC team must go undefeated in the best conference but a Big 12 team gets a pass for a loss against a much weaker conference?

Michigan gets rewarded for all the corruption of sign stealing, and having their head coach suspended for 6 games of a 12-game season, by getting to play another defensive team without a starting QB.

But then the committee thought better. 2 Iowa's in a row might be overkill.

C'mon man. That lead lasted the length of an Aflac commercial.

That Big 12 team beat the SEC champ

It was a really nice win. Then they got to play a Big 12 schedule while Bama had a SEC schedule.

Bama beat undefeated Georgia, which is as good as a win as Texas’ over Bama. Then look at the rest of the resume - Texas has a loss and Bama beat top 15 Ole Miss and LSU. Texas has no other wins as good as those two for Bama. And again, winning the SEC > winning the Big 12.

Biggest thing is that the FBS is still the only sports league that uses subjectivity to pick its champion. The CFP and BCS are slightly modified methods to the one that has been done since the AP started doing it. I’ve been a proponent of the 12 team playoff because then you can’t nitpick reasons to slip in teams over others like with the current format. But, you still run into the issue of: even if you win your conference, you still can’t make the playoffs.

Florida state should be in over Texas. I think Alabama should have been left out completely, but if they insist on having them, then Florida State had a more complete year than Texas.

Florida State built that championship level roster by buying players in the transfer portal. I think they got hosed, but you can’t say “money destroyed the playoffs” when Florida State used money to stack the roster.
