Quite the opposite. He's said as long as they are rewarding teams for having easy schedules, they are going to have the easiest schedule possible. Once they stop rewarding it, they'll change.

that's not the takeaway here, teams have scheduled soft in their handful of OOC games for decades that's nothing new.
What is more noteworthy is just how utterly and horrendously awful the Big 10 as a whole. It's why any comparison of the big10 and SEC is entirely moot because once you get past the 3rd or 4th best teams at the top one league has a collection of retarded midgets while the other has teams that could still easily win ~9 games and finish in the top 15.

At worst 10-2 if they are still a dominant team. Penn State and Oregon. What a joke of a schedule and one of those is at home.

Exactly.
They’re all just counting wins and losses neither knowing or caring that the obvious conclusion is that schools should avoid difficult non-conference games at all costs and bringing into question why the SEC is playing 9 games where in a typical year 6-8 teams are all playoff caliber.

Going into the championship game BYU was ranked ahead of Miami. Presumably that was because BYU was 11-1 and Miami was 10-2. Miami had already beaten ND by that point in the season. So if that was a determining factor then they would have been ranked higher than BYU at that point, right? Yet, Miami wasn't, which leads to the only logical reason being that BYU had 1 loss and Miami had 2.
BYU then plays and loses the Big 12 championship game while Miami sits at home. Miami then jumps BYU. Miami did not play. So their resume from the week prior didn't change at all. The only thing that changed was BYU added 2nd loss. It is a pretty strong argument that BYU would have been in ahead of Miami had they simply not been forced to play in the Big 12 championship given they were already ranked ahead of Miami at that time. The same logic would have applied to Indiana as an 11-1 team that did not play in the conf. championship game. Miami was not ranked ahead of any 1 loss teams in the CFP poll going into championship game weekend and no 1 loss major conference team was left out in favor of a 2 loss major conference team.
Miami's SOS only mattered because BYU go a second loss and the CFP's shallow analysis is that 1 loss is better than 2 losses. If Indiana had been sitting at home on championship game weekend with only 1 loss, similar to A&M, they would have gotten in ahead of SOS. So yes, SOS might matter some if the teams being compared had an equal number of losses. But it is clear fewer losses, even against an awful schedule, trumps SOS.
