Watching the game it seemed like the Chargers did their homework and figured out a good game plan to stop Baltimores offense with Jackson in the game. I think half way through the 3rd I would of been tempted to throw Flacco in and see what he could do, since the offense had been stagnant most of the game.

I bet Ravens fans were going through what LSU fans experienced on 1/9.

No. Harbaugh and Ravens brass have firmly hitched their wagon to Jackson.

Flacco wasn’t going to go in. And I don’t blame him.

If I'm Flacco, I'm glad they didn't. Now everyone wonders what if without taking the risk of Flacco fricking it up worse.

Everybody’s favorite player after a loss is the backup QB

Based on what we saw from Flacco this season there’s no reason to think he would’ve done any better. The way I see it, go with the guy you’ve won with.

Which is what I'm saying. People are now playing the "what if Flacco came in" game and he didn't even have to go in. He's certainly happy with the outcome with his impending cut and signing with another team.

This brings about the real question. Does the fact that the only team to face him twice completely debilitated the Ravens make you re-think hitching your cart to Jackson if you're an NFL FO?

I have heard some say the fourth quarter was cause for hope, but at that point the defense and dialed back and he still needed a couple of breaks to keep drives alive. If that was any team but the Ravens they lose by twenty. The Ravens defense keeping LAC out of the end zone is the only reason that game was 28-0 at halftime.

I know Flacco doesn't appear to be the answer, but this is starting to look like the situation his brother got himself into. Good, not great QB gets usurped by young running QB that no one has a clear answer for to go along with a great defense. His brother lost his job when the running QB never progressed as a passer and the defensive talent was no longer good enough to hide the offensive inefficiencies. Does John start to wonder if he's going down the same trail?

“Coach, Jackson is playing like dogshit and can’t do a thing out there. Our season is on the line here! I think we should make the switch to Flacco before it’s too late!”

“Hey, shut the frick up, I’m the head coach and I make all the decisions around here. frick Flacco, Jackson got us here!”

If I’m the Ravens GM, I’m not giving up this quickly on a rookie that got me to the playoffs despite his bad game. I have an entire offseason with him firmly as my starter to work on his mechanics and a game plan to fit his talents.

I would have taken out him on the second series of second half.. Would have talked to LAmar at half and said.. Look they've schemed the hell out of what has worked so well for us.. Lets see if we can get something going to start second half but then we will need to change direction to try and catch them off guard

Mobile QB was getting squashed by the pass rush, lets replace him with a malcontent statue. Thats some winning football right there

Yeah, In Jacksonville next season, Washington DC if Alex Smith can't play again.

If I am Flacco, DC is my preferred landing spot. Geographically he doesn't even have to move. Professionally, he won't be demanded to carry the team as they already built it for a game manager, and they were in the driver seat in the NFC east until injuries and Drew Brees derailed them.

Jacksonville is also good because there's no way he's not an improvement over the shite show they have had at QB. No where to go but up. Miami, Denver and NYG same story.

The defense and the Steelers imploding is why they made the playoffs.

Lamar had a nice stretch, but he ran the Read option and passed for ~150yds/g. He didn't set the league on fire, but rather did what Vince Young, Tim Tebow, CK7, and RG3 did with great defenses. Play keep away and let your defense win the game.
