If the ratings are bad, blame MLB and the networks for terrible marketing. Atlanta and Houston are the 7th and 8th largest media markets. Both teams have bright young stars.
Ratings sure seem to do fine when Kansas City is in the Super Bowl, or Oklahoma City is in the NBA Finals.
ESPN coverage of the sport fricking sucks. I don't need to see AROD and Jessica Mendoza call a Yankees-Sox game for the 10th time in a season. MLB needs a different network for their primetime games and need better personalities doing them.

Yet another sport taken over by the South.
Suck it, Yankees and West Coast Elites. Maybe you can dominate in Lacrosse.

It's going to piss Manfred off to no end that the Astros and Braves fricked around and got into a World Series with one another.
Dude should just hit a quick vacation for the next 2 weeks. He's not welcome in either city.

Interesting because you NEVER brought up this point when you were INSISTING that the NFL wasn't gonna sign a record TV deal.
No because I thought that the SJW woke bull shite would screw the deal.
And I was very very wrong. Even made my signature that I was after it happened

So now your hopping on this idiots narrative?
I’m not hopping to anything.
I was wrong the NFL is loved, and a lot of woke and weak minded people can look past the racist bullshite they spew
But gambling does help them bigly

It would be truly enjoyable to see which fanbase can muster up the better "frick you Manfred" chant

I mean IF the narrative is the NFL's TV popularity is "100%" tied to gambling, how would their "wokeness" effect gambling? Those folks only GAS about the money involved, correct?

I'm sure it helps but not near the extent that some folks think.
BTW I detest their wokeness as much as anyone.

Only reason I can name more than 5 current players is FF. And I don't watch the games. I check the points Monday night to see how bad I got beat.

Extremely underrated series that never gets mentioned among the all time great World Series for some reason.

From a media perspective, those two are “small market” because they aren’t the mega-teams with large national fan bases like the Yankees, Dodgers, and Cardinals.
It tends to be code for “It’s not a team I grew up rooting for or a city I want to spend time in.”

My guess is that the Marlins having a fire sale roughly 10 minutes after winning in extra innings poisons most thoughts on that one.
I love to point out how fricked Cleveland is as a fan base, myself included, because they are the only team to ever lose in extra innings in game 7 of the World Series. And they did it twice.

But of all the matchups, two southern teams seem like a nightmare scenario from a ratings perspective right?
The five least watched World Series are:
1. 2020 LA Dodgers/Tampa Ray's
2. 2012 SF Giants/Detroit Tigers
3. 2008 Phillies/Rays
4. 2019 Washington/Houston
5. 2014 SF Giants/KC Royals
Only 2 World Series since 2000 have averaged more than 15 in the ratings. Only 5 have averaged more than 12. 10 have averaged a 10 or less in the ratings.
From 1980 to 1999, the lowest rated World Series was a 14.1--that was the Yankees 4 game sweep of the Padres.
The highest rated World Series of all time all occurred between 1978 and 1982.
Seems to me it doesn't matter. Baseball viewership is declining no matter who is in the World Series.

That’s not the World Series he referenced. And that Indians team was full of stars.
