If you think it’s unwatchable now, good lord.

But one particular fan believed Bonner had an ulterior motive before news of her release — to try and force the Fever into trading her to the Phoenix Mercury, where she could play with her fiancée, Alyssa Thomas.
“Conspiracy theory...The Mercury were never able to afford DB on a max in the summer, Now she gets her max from Indy for 40% of the season AND she can play for Phoenix and barely loses a cent...” @DBGyt_ wrote on X.

a bit off the topic on this....but WNBA related for sure.
I'd actually never met anyone before who was a WNBA fan or went to an actual WNBA game but on a recent trip I met two within a day of each other.
One a an airport bar who told the person next to her that she travels a lot to WNBA games, loves it.
Same weekend another at Murphy's in Wrigleyville, sat at a table next to my wife and I and she also professed to being a big WNBA fan, she specified Caitlyn Clark as her favorite.
Both FWIW had what I think could be described as the stereotypical Butch Lesbian look to the T.

Trial balloon idea:
A new league is formed with no affiliation to the NBA. It has no female refs and uses high school boys’ game refs.
Clark is the face of the new league pulling young college players.
The coaches are primarily men with high school coaching experience.
All the Clark fans gravitate to the new league. The new league’s season runs concurrent with the WNBA.
The WNBA totally crashes and burns.

Well, I'm pretty sure I'm in the set of everyone, and was not in the subset of people who knew MAGA Barbie is Sophie Cunningham. I found this out when I read your response, so you are once again wrong.
And based on the way you used to drool over CC it is understandable that I may have misunderstood you.
But thank you for the new info

You do realize that's exactly what happened to the NBA, right? It ended up merging with the ABA. It was only after the merger that the NBA became successful.
And that was 30 years after its initial formation (1946).

DeWanna will likely be reunited with her wife who plays for the Phoenix Mercury (lovely Sophie's former team).
This is really the problem with the league if we are being honest. Stud, minority, unattractive lesbians don’t move the needle in terms of fan interest. Attractive and semi attractive hetero females with basketball skills do. Owners know this and so do the studs. If the goal is to make money, and this is the reality, whose job is in trouble?
