The Lakers panicking might be the only way Paul gets moved. It would make the Rockets quite a bit worse in the short term but still prob worth it.

quote:as has been mentioned already, yeah it sucked but what choice did they have? The way the NBA is structured, they were better off resigning him. Had they let him go, they wouldn't have been able to use All that money to sign other player(s).
I really like Morey as a GM, but that CP3 contract was a ridiculous move.
They were close enough last year, so you roll the dice hoping he gives you two good years and you get a break against GS one of those two years.
Almost worked, then game 6 happened this year.
But yeah no one is trading Paul for CP3 with that contract.

No way Fertitta was letting him walk either after the series last year, which is why I don’t think a deal happens for him in the very unlikely chance someone wants to take his deal on anyway

This is like me saying everything I own is for sale for the right price.

Except you know Morey actually means it when he says it. Love a GM who isn't scared to make moves
Yea I like that he isn't sitting around waiting for other teams to fall off. Houston has likely been the 2nd best team in the NBA for the past 2-3 years, and have been very close to getting it done.
I actually like that about most of the Houston teams. I remember saying that I didn't care of the crazy Brock Osweiler deal didn't end with the Texans winning way more; it at least showed the fans and team they are in it to try and win games.

Rockets would only take wall if they get beal. Even then they wouldn't take wall

Quite a few possible deals for Chris. I like the one that would bring over dragic and Joshy Richardson. That is being discussed.
on the OP this is tilman wanting to make his mark. That’s the kinda guy he is. He has a book coming out this summer. And he list out his 5 tenets of business. The first three of the five are all the word “change”. so goes without further remark that he really likes to shake things up.

Trade Harden to the Lakers and team James with James. Board explodes and I have SERIOUS problems with rooting for the Lakers

Thankfully the Rockets are going along with it.
It would be unfortunate if CC just beat GOAT and Tillman still felt the need for "change" because it's in his book.

Just because it's on ClutchFans does not make it true.
Explain how that makes ANY sense for Miami
Let's trade a 33-year-old PG coming into the last year of his contract (one the Heat want to get rid of) and a young player coming into his own for a breaking down 34-year-old PG with a contract 10 times worse than Dragic

Chris Paul finally finding his way to the Lakers at age 34 and $125 million left on his contract is the darkest timeline
Hopefully that would get vetoed

Sounds great until Miami laughs and hangs up the phone
