I haven’t seen who the top 5 are because the OP didn’t link this “ladder” nor did he name them. Anyways, Caitlyn isn’t in the top 10 in win shares or PER so being on a “ladder” that is completely meaningless especially when there is a very clear MVP is just a silly thing to get worked up about.

We a love Caitlyn and rightfully so, but she does not belong in the MVP discussion at this time. She will win her well deserved ROTY award as she is the greatest rookie basketball player of the 21st century and we will all be proud of her.
I slightly disagree. Caitlyn does indeed deserve to be in the discussion, she just doesn't deserve to win it. That honor goes to A'ja, hands down.

he was so dead-on accurate with that whole rant

These two other players are in the Top 5 for MVP but Clark is honorable mention
I think Clark has been better, but the Fever are 19-17 while the Liberty are 30-6 and the Sun are 25-10.

Oof for Cheryl and Thomas

We know who the winner is. Bit to not have her in the top 5 just shows how much they hate acknowledging her success and impact on her team and the game.

I’ve watched wnba this year more than I’ve watched total since it’s inception.. every game I’ve seen is a Fever game and she’s clearly a top player in the league
So you aren’t watching the WNBA, you’re watching the Fever
Maybe they should trade her to L.A… they’re wasting her in a small market

CC will do more good for the W if she was on a big market team… New York is good and Chicago has Angel Reese so that leaves LA

WNBA is doing this only to get your attention.
The game is not interesting, so they have to create angles for you to get invested.
People react more to getting upset.

The quicker people realize that the WNBA , its players and support, are not going to let CC be the face of the league, the better off they will be.
She won’t win any notable awards that are chosen by them.

I don’t know if she should be considered for MVP or not, but I can’t help but think if Caitlin Clark was black that the media and the league and many fans would be hyping her up like crazy. But as it is now it seems she gets treated like she’s the Trump of the WNBA, where they only pretend to be cordial at times while not-so-secretly trying to sabotage her with negative talk, all the while hoping she fails.
And nothing Caitlin has done is controversial. It’s not like she’s a polarizing figure. 100% of this has to do with the toxicity of the world around her. All she’s done is play basketball.

It's women's basketball, why in God's name would you care? Clark seems to be fine with whatever treatment she's getting, and the sport is pathetic.

You realize this thread isn’t really about who the mvp should be, right? I’m sure you still think Reese should be in the running. Even though she actually made her team worse this year than last lol

They’ve been a top tier team over the second half of the season and she’s clearly one of the top overall players.. all this pettiness only pushes me away and less likely to care after this season.

Arguing for Clark for MVP is just like arguing Wemby for MVP. Obviously, they're having a historically great rookie season. They've broke records, while improving their team tremendously. But that doesn't mean they should win MVP.
Aja Wilson is the clear-cut MVP this season. There is no other correct answer. Everyone else is fighting for second place.
