Oline more than likely since he's running for his life all game long.

Could see them nab J.Smith. They need oline help which they can grab in 2nd/3rd round or FA, but they also desperately need any type of offensive weapon with a pulse. I think they give Herbert another shot with some help.

Smith has the potential to be an all time great and it would be a waste to pass him up in their situation.

That would actually make sense to draft Smith there.

It’s a loaded class so if not pick 1, someone first two rounds

He never had it. He inherited a loaded roster untouched from how Singletary left it, had Vic Fangio running the defense with the best LB corps since the Dome Patrol, and had a small window of time ahead of the curve when no one knew how to defend Kaepernick. If he’d been forced to stick around for a 5th year in SF we wouldn’t be talking about magic

Trading the pick to a QB needy team is probably the play.

They desperately need a WR1. Take Smith without a doubt. He is the real deal.

I don't think there's a QB worth taking at #1, especially not when you already have a guy with all of the physical tools who has proven he can be great when the circumstances are better and he has his head out of his arse.

If some other team thinks there is a bona fide 1.1 out there amongst the gunslingers, Manning name and Cam Ward 2.0s then let them trade you a stash of draft picks for that chance.

They need oline but their oline is already injured. Idk how many assets you can throw at that, they need a better training and medical staff. Then take a wr because how long can you neglect that position

They wouldn’t need OL help at #1 overall long-term, presuming both Slater and Alt don’t have career-altering injuries. Both are out right now so it appears to be a mess, but it’s not if they’re both not compromised long-term.

Jeremiah Smith would probably make sense (Chargers passed on Nabers for Alt, so that pick would essentially be filling that vacancy), or trade down to a team that’s desperate for a QB. There’s not a QB in this class that’s definitively better than Herbert.

My money is on Miami going 0-17. The two play on 12/27 and it should be the game of the week.

The play for this years #1 is to take Smith or trade down to someone that is a contender with smith and get a haul of picks and role players.
