I don't think there's a QB worth taking at #1, especially not when you already have a guy with all of the physical tools who has proven he can be great when the circumstances are better and he has his head out of his arse.

I still think they'll win enough to not have the #1 pick. But if they do get it, they might take Mestemacher. Herbert might be washed now. All those hits will eventually catch up to you. It'll happen to Burrow and Allen soon too

The play for this years #1 is to take Smith or trade down to someone that is a contender with smith and get a haul of picks and role players.

You don’t get the #1 pic by being smart with your pics. The year is young, every year the nfl tries to make first round talent out of 2-3 Qbs that shouldn’t go in the top 3 rounds.

Arch ain’t going in the first.

I would bet that he is. If he comes out this year and doesn't go top 20, I won't post for a whole year.

People underestimate how kind of hard it is to get the #1 pick if your roster has any decent talent on it. They’ll find their ways to 6-7 wins and end up with a top 10 pick but not first overall unless they just shut Herbert down in a week or two and go full tank at the deadline

If they did somehow get it, they’d definitely go Jeremiah Smith first overall, and I imagine would have a brand new coaching staff

It will be super interesting to see what happens with Justin Herbert.

He has all the measurable, all the talent, the look, the girlfriend, the coach and some talent around him. He’s not terrible, but he’s not a leader and is just kinda meh at best and bad at worst.

You can’t really win with him. But QB is so hard to find that you can’t trade or cut him. So do you keep him and continue to be meh, or move on and possibly get worse.

And don’t forget that this is a franchise that let Drew Brees walk and was turned down by Eli Manning.

And the division doesn’t do them any favors.
