Mahomes is closing in on 2nd place behind Brady. Quickly.

It was just recently that I found out he is the same age as Gronk. Granted, he hasn't had the wear and tear Gronk had, but he is still 35. Idk how many people realize he is pretty damn old for an NFL TE.

He has Steve Spagnola as a defensive co-ordinator instead of Bob Sutton. He doesn't have to throw five or six touchdowns every game to win.

Pretty simple explanation, doesn't have Hill and Kelce in their prime. Maybe even more importantly teams play back preventing the big play.

This is the reason. His receiving corp last year was awful and they aren't much better this year.

They lost a lot of explosiveness when Tyreek left.

And he’s 15-1 in spite of this.

They've shifted gears a bit and are now a ball control, short passing offense. Their defense is really, really good and they play into that on offense.

He been hurt all season? He actually did good today finally.

Worthy, Kelce, Hopkins is better than what 65% of teams have.

I am more convinced that Eric Bienienmy not being there has makes their offense worse. He isn’t a natively good OC but he fits in the KC system.

Statistically, Kelce is probably a top 10 TE in 2024, he's definitely on the decline but still good. Worthy is just now starting to show some real progress as a rookie and DHop is officially a short yardage possession receiver. Outside of Mahomes, I don't think opposing teams are overly concerned about any player on the Chiefs offense, but as a team the Chiefs are pretty solid.

I've heard Chiefs players say Bieniemy could be a real hard arse and a taskmaster.

If this is KC in a bad Mahomes year then I am really not feeling optimistic about the dynasty ending soon

He’s still winning and that’s all that matters. At this point luck doesn’t matter, especially when he’s playing in and probably winning another Super Bowl in the near future.

Ive seen Drew Brees light up defenses with six dudes of the street. I like Mahomes and he is a winner just doesn’t impress me as much as Brees, Manning, prime Rodgers and Brady.

saints fans are soooooo delusional about brees lol

HIs numbers are still pretty solid, and he currently has the highest completion percentage in his career. Only difference is he is not having "as many" video game statistical games.

As others have pointed out, losing key players will always have an impact on any QBs stats; especially when defenses don't have to game plan against 2-3 guys at the same time. The difference for Mahomes will be do they eventually retool, or does he change his approach and adjust. His current record and completion percentage is telling me he's adjusting well; just a matter of time to know if this will transition to the level of postseason success we have previously seen from him.

The other thing is their defense has improved significantly the past few years, whereas several years ago they had to outscore teams to win, and were forced into shootouts.

Now, they can rely more on dink & dunk ball control.

I've always believed that third down conversion percentage is arguably the most important stat for a QB. Converting on third down and 5+ to extend drives when everybody on defense knows that you have to pass the ball separates the men from the boys. Well, the Chiefs are #1 in third down conversion percentage this year. Mahomes makes the plays when it counts.
