Yeah I don't know about that. You ever tried watching the final minute of a basketball game? One minute will take like thirty minutes to play cause it's all fouls and timeouts.
And have you ever had a neighbor who's out there playing basketball all the time? The noise will drive you crazy. Basketball is annoying.

Boxing used to be the largest sport in America. MMA has skyrocketing viewership. Hockey is a regional sport that, realistically, can only be played in places that get cold.
Football is popular because people love violent collisions, and people love when stakes are high.
That’s why every sport’s post season gets better numbers than the regular season.

You didn't play football in high school did you?

One part of it is that football is much more of a "regional" or territorial sport, in that, where you are from, where a team is from REALLY matters. There's pure competition there. Baseball has the same thing.
Basketball does not. And I don't know why. That's why football gets a lot more passion.
Baseball and Football are also built for easy digestion in a way Basketball, Hockey, and Soccer are not. Constant pauses and setting up "the play," much more obvious strategy and clarity between a good play and a bad play. I've always found it funny that baseball is the "thinking man's sport" when it is the easiest sport to understand and realize what's going on - and that's why it's so boring.

Basketball success is almost solely attributed to height. They are phenomenal athletes..for their height. I still love the game, but its a fact. The average american male height is like 5'10. There are less than 10 guys under 6'2 in the league. Over 90% of the league is 6'4 or taller. Less than 5% of the population is 6'4 and over. Is that a coincidence?

I’ll go with my. White boy gets two handed set shot blocked in to stands by black kid in 7th grade........... never picked up the round ball again. Fact.

I think it's the height thing. 90 percent of us are under 6 feet. It helps to be tall in FB, but not freakishly tall like basketball.
Drew Brees is under 6' and running backs and corner backs don't have to be freakishly tall. Lineman is where you need to be grotesquely big in FB.

Other than QB basketball takes so much more skill and coordination, it’s way more free flowing, there is a ton more action....
If you are going to use that logic, Hockey players are more skilled than basketball players.

Since your favorite football team only plays once a week and only 12-18 times a year the games are a bigger deal and mean more
I think it is partly the above but additionally, the week between games allows for reflection on the last game and anticipation for the next one. It’s a perfect formula to build personal investment in the sport.
I like baseball more than the NFL or NBA, though.

I think being the far superior game has something to do with it.

Too much rules to follow for casual fans.

Because the NBA is rigged, their players recently went "all in" for the commies, and college basketball is also ruined by shitty officiating.
That's why.
I LOVE CBB, going to the game Saturday, but I fully expect the experience to be ruined by shitty officials.
Downvote away.
