Why did Texas get a pass for a weak conference but FSU didn’t?

You can say they beat Alabama and Radio on the road early in the season but FSU also scheduled a top SEC team out of conference.

The Big XII and ACC were equally dogshit but unlike FSU, Texas couldn’t even run the table

The CFP committee lucked out with both games being instant classics, but the goalpost moving is still so crazy.

They had to let Texas in to justify selecting Bama. The whole selection was based on getting Bama in.

AT Alabama.

So if they put 1 loss Bama in, they had to put 1 loss Texas in.

Did you just wake up from a coma?

It’s because FSU lost their star QB. It had nothing to do with conference strength. And Texas had the better win

$$$$$$$$$$$

a lot less people were going to watch FSU play than bama or Texas.

Because this was never about Texas. It was always about getting Alabama in

beating bama on the road is a decidedly better win than LSU at a neutral site in Florida

But not losing is also decidedly better than losing to a team as well. And their loss wasn’t even to a great team either

Said this from day one. FSU was left out because the committee didn't want to have to make the decision between Texas or Bama

UT's brand is bigger and they beat the media darling, Bama, so they had to get in to get Bama in.

It was based on the criteria that all conferences, including the ACC, agreed to. "Key player" availability was agreed to be an allowed metric. FSU lost their potential Heisman QB. People need to move on from the conspiracy crap.

The Committee wanted to draw ratings at the behest of ESPN.

That's it. They knew Alabama would give Michigan a good game. The jury was out of if FSU could.

The games didn't matter. Most deserving had no bearing.

Exhibit A of why looking at conferences is lazy and stupid. Texas SOS (including yesterday) was 4. Florida St (including Orange Bowl) was 55.

The SEC money men and ESPN wanted Texas and Alabama in and got it.

Florida State could have definitely competed last night with their 2nd string and phenomenal defense.

Alabama was thoroughly whipped in their game and it came across closer because of the unforced Michigan errors.

I still don’t think Washington necessarily goes undefeated outside of the PAC 10.

because they had to invent a way to put bama in when they didnt earn that right.

texas had to be added so they could say bama also must be added

every criteria used to decide who the best 4 teams are was thrown out the window and they chose the teams they wanted based on preconceived bias

Plus they had a quality loss on their schedule unlike FSU which hurt us.

I don't 100% with the process but we got two good games yesterday, and I don't think a compromised FSU is competitive with any of the teams that played yesterday.

We got two great semifinal games last year too, yet, people say “we need to avoid another year like 2022”
