Georgia losing the SEC title fricked FSU...now there was only two spots left for Michigan, Washington and FSU. Because Bama/Texas was a packaged deal.

If Georgia wins the SEC, Texas doesn't sniff the playoffs.

beating bama on the road is a decidedly better win than LSU at a neutral site in Florida

While true, 1) that wasn't really a neutral site game--it was like 80/20 FSU, and 2) it is mitigated by Texas's loss to Oklahoma on a true neutral site.

They were setting up to leave Texas out but the FSU QB injury made it easier to go that route.

It was always about getting Alabama in.

Being Bama or beating Bama goes a long way with the committee.

Kinda. I think it was more about just getting an SEC team in. If Georgia had beaten Bama like they should have, Florida State probably gets in.

Nothing against Texas--I think the committee definitely would have preferred them and their brand over FSU, but I don't think they've built up enough equity/capital on the field recently to justify going to that ridiculous injured player clause.

Why do people keep acting like this is a mystery?

FSU didn’t get in because their QB was hurt. Injuries to key players is part of the CFP criteria, the Committee has said it. There is no mystery here.
