You keep throwing other teams in this, when it’s only about alabama and Texas. It’s a very specific discussion with an already decided outcome.

In that case rank OU above Texas

OU has two losses, dummy

But... Head to head... They are better than TX no?

You don’t like it when I test your methodology outside of one scenario because it highlights how flawed it is.

My methodology (better resume = better ranking) is not afraid of being tested because it works universally.

Explain to us what’s a marginal difference and a significant one when talking about top 25 wins.

Not sure if I could explain it, but I would list Texas by 10 over Alabama on the road would be more of an example of a significant one.

Because it’s a unique situation. Adapt or die.

Your methodology can be manipulated to say whatever you want it to. Head to head, not so much.

Also, what recently shows anyone that Bama is a better team now than Texas?

If Bama and Texas win their CCG, then:

Bama: 3 top 15 wins, 1 loss to a one-loss team
Texas: 1 top 15 win, 1 loss to a two-loss team

Bama would have the better resume. Better resume = higher ranking.

According to your methodology, 11-1 James Madison should be ranked higher than LSU, PSU, Ole Miss, OU, and many others. Because hey, they only have one loss, and all those other teams have more than one loss. We all know James Madison isn’t a top 10 team in the country.

When you have to bring Sunbelt teams into the argument, you’ve already lost. You just don’t know it yet.

Why did you mention what conference they are in, as if they are in a lesser conference? How would you even know such a thing? Isn’t that just a subjective belief?

The best way to just fix this argument is to have Bama and Texas play against each other.

Oh, wait.

There’s no logical explanation why Bama’s loss to Texas matters “more” than Texas’ loss to OU, or why Texas’ win over Bama should matter “more” than a Bama win over UGA.

I just wanted to quote this so more people see it. You need help. Caring so much about sport has fried your brain apparently...Or, I hope this is just another "respond to me" thread by being outrageous and disingenuous. And, you've succeeded I suppose, getting the responses.

I can't believe this nonsense went 7 pages. Did Pittman break this man or has he always been this way?

I love that we have gotten to the point the last few seasons of "Why Alabama SHOULD be in the playoff" instead of "Who's going to beat Alabama? " or "I think Alabama would beat the Cleveland Browns" LOL

It is pretty crazy how this is even an argument:

If Bama and Texas win their CCG, then:

Bama: 3 top 15 wins, 1 loss to a one-loss team
Texas: 1 top 15 win, 1 loss to a two-loss team

FFS. Nobody is claiming the Big12 is better. But Texas was better than Bama. If they both have the same record and are both champions of their conference you can’t ignore that one beat the other.

What you can’t ignore is that 13 games were played, not just one.

you're right it is crazy.

we should just put 4 SEC teams in the playoffs and to hell with any results that actually happened on the field.
