Because the media gives them all the primetime games and makes them the top story of the sportscasts. And then they say that they deserve to be on in primetime because "they're the team everyone talks about."
Definition of "self-fulfilling" prophecy. They tell you they're important and then they put them on TV because everyone thinks they're important.
If the Jacksonville Jaguars got 7 primetime games and they were the top story on SportsCenter for 50 straight days, people would be talking about them too.
They piss down your back and tell you it's raining.

you're an idiot. they put Dallas on primetime and talk about them because people care about them, not because they just decided they'd pump up one team.

You know nothing about how any of this works

says the Notre Dame guy
As many people watch them to lose as root for them. Either way, drives ratings, so they are on.
don't care, don't watch

Dallas and NYC are both huge media markets.
This game is an intense rivalry match up.

Notre dame is on NBC every week for the same reason.

Or because they have the largest fan base in the NFL. And it's all over the country.

I feel like the NFC east as a whole is always on sunday night football

BTW, to the OP if you're still curious on why they are always on national tv, forbes just released the most valuable teams in teh NFL, and the Cowboys are now worth 4 billion, 800 million more than the second place Patriots.

They haven't won a Super Bowl or been to a Super Bowl or even played in a conference championship game since 1995 yet they're treated like football royalty. It's completely ridiculous
and yet they draw ratings. Shocking that a for profit business like NBC would put a team on the air that, you know, brings in business for them.
Posted on 9/14/15 at 10:36 am to Bench McElroy
Because as much as the Patriots and Steelers and Packers bitch and whine, there is still and will always be only one America's Team.
Nobody draws viewers like Dallas. Of the top 30 highest rated regular season games in history, Dallas played in 21 of them and most were long after their glory years. Dallas could play SB 50 against a pop warner team and it would be the most viewed sporting event in history.
