Best way to do this would be come up with the best 16 combos and they play a mythical round robin.
See who has the best record when its all over. That way all matchups happen and we would see who the actual overall best is
For example, a shaq and Kobe would do well against a team that relied on another guard/center combo, but what happens when shaq and kobe play a team with two elite outside shooters?
You are going to be having a wide open shooter all day, and 3>2.....

Hakeem and Drexler
This duo is very underrated due to star power. But Clyde was a poor man's MJ, and Hakeem was as good as any big man and had a unique skill set. They'd be a tough out in this tourney. I would bet them and get decent odds.

D-Wade and Lebron would be the GOAT team in a 2 on 2 matchup.
Both good ball handlers. Both can create their own shot off the dribble or get to the rim. Both All-NBA team and All-Defensive team. Wade rebounded a lot bigger than his actual size. Lebron had freakish strength and speed. If you tried matching up Kobe/Shaq, Lebron would guard Shaq and at least make Shaq have to work to score in the post, but Lebron or Wade would either be shooting wide open mid range shots all day or blowing past Shaq if he stepped out on defense.

Yeh I am starting to think Shaq isnt a good pick in this
Yes, he would eat alot of people lunch on offense. But on defense against a multitude of different teams, he either has to give up a wide open 3/mid range, or let someone blow past him

Frazier and Willis Reed should be in the tournament.
Rick Barry and Jamal Wilkes.
Cousy Russell
West and wilt.

Drazen Petrovic and Derrick Coleman

I will get down voted but MJ and AD. AD would still struggle to guard Shaq but is better than a wing like Pippen, plus he would draw Shaq out with his ability to hit jumpers and he was one of the best PnR scorers last year

Who is calling the fouls?
Depending on that answer, I might pick Harden and KD

Whats so frustrating about Harden is he would actually be great this way too, but he chooses to play for the foul

Bird/Maravich in their prime. No need to go in the paint. Bombs away!!

Lebron/AD vs Shaq/Kobe would be fun. Though Shaq would probably beat the frick out of AD
