For Rory, I think he falls into the category of "the more you talk the more likely it is you'll say something stupid."

Tiger was so close to the vest with media stuff, Rory is the complete opposite & shares waaay too much imo

I agree with this. Just shut up Rory. He's so awesome at golf but feels the need to be the "voice" of the Tour. And then he shares so many complaints about his own play/game/etc.

Shut up and dribble.

I understand not wanting athletes to talk politics, but now we don’t want athletes to even talk about the damn sport they play?

Do we need to “shut up and fan” and stop posting on this message board about sports?

Rory just says too much. Other players, like Scottie, just say "I didn't have it today and so-and-so played great and deserved it" and moves on. Rory always takes it one step or two steps further and it sounds like excuses and complaints.

scottie quite literally “complained” about the course and pins this week

I view it as two dudes that just honestly gave their opinion when directly asked about the golf course they were playing. Neither was complaining to me

And I think he’s just stating the other side of the argument

Rory won 3.5 points at a road Ryder cup in NY where the entire time fans were yelling about his wife, and a grand slam winning masters after decades of mental torment You couldn’t do 1/1,000 of what those two accomplished by being fragile

Not the mental stress of having to hear drunk golf fans say stupid stuff behind walls of security . The "mental torment" of being a billionaire golfer living the life of luxury.

What he's saying is the dictionary definition of jocksniffing. Athletes are just people, but some are extremely wealthy ones who want for nothing. They don't need to be put on some pedestal.

So in order to not be a jock sniffer, you have to say asinine things about them that make no sense?

If it’s all this easy why didn’t you just go do the athlete pedestal rich thing?

I'm not a fan of either, but LeBron is far more fragile. Rory doesn't know when to shut up at times and certainly comes off as a douche more often than not, but he's not on LeBron's level.

Rory has at least admitted a couple of times where he said too much and also commented on some of his choke jobs. Also gives credit to where credit is due to others. LeBron has never really taken accountability for any of his failings.

Eh, Scottie gets pretty snippy with reporters at times, too, especially lately.

Every single golfer on Tour believes deep down that nothing bad is ever their fault, and the greats believe it more than the rest.

They’re not even the most accomplished in their sports this century.

This is something that really rustles my jimmies. At no point in my life have I ever hit an unsuccessful shot & blamed anything but my own lack of skill.

These guys hit 200yd+ irons into tiny baked out greens then act shocked when it rolls a foot into the rough. The insistence on "perfect" conditions also severely limits course setups

You don't achieve what these guys have achieve if you're mentally/physically fragile. That's quite obvious, how the frick is this even a discussion.

Most Rory haters aren't actual golf fans or have only been watching for a couple years. They don't understand the game and just blindly root against anyone that isn't American. It's such a stupid impetus.

You act like Rory all of a sudden woke up as a 30something millionaire and never had to go through any type of struggle or BS to get where he’s at in life

Whats wrong with Rory? Is this because some trashy person at a golf tournament was chanting instead of being respectful? I despise the chanting of USA at these tournaments, but it does help identify the trash.
