Whats wrong with Rory? Is this because some trashy person at a golf tournament was chanting instead of being respectful? I despise the chanting of USA at these tournaments, but it does help identify the trash.

Way too many Chads at pro golf events now. Don’t care to see every one of them booted when they act like assholes.

What Scottie said and what Rory said were vastly different.

Are you fine with them hollering out the other nonsense or do you only think the guy who said something as incongruous as “USA” deserved to be kicked out?

They weren’t vastly different. Scottie is just more likable so when he says things they aren’t received the same as when Rory does

Tiger was so close to the vest with media stuff, Rory is the complete opposite & shares waaay too much imo

Rory is only like 2 years older than me. I was a huge junior golfer, so we both grew up in the Tiger era. Rory has talked plenty of times about how Tiger was/is his idol.

I got to see Tiger live numerous times during his prime. I was actually on the course when he shot (tied) his career low round of 61 at the 2005 Buick Open. This is back when he rarely signed autographs. He was really happy after that round. I got it twice that day. After signing his scorecard he went walking towards the clubhouse. As soon as he pulled out a sharpie there was a bull rush and the makeshift fence got knocked over. People fell lol. I was 14.

My first PGA golf tournament was on a Sunday when he won the Buick Open in 2002 by 4 strokes. That was awesome at 11.

Rory will never approach Tiger in anything… positive or negative. He will never have anywhere near that type of influence on golf… even just sports in general for that matter.

And one thing I was really surprised about was Scottie bitching about the pins. I’ve never seen him do anything like that before. He will also end up with a much better career than Rory.

The only thing that worries me about him is that stupid leg movement he does when he hits driver especially. My Dad RIP in peace, said Tiger was gonna have knee issues later with that stupid knee jerk he did for years. He told me this before 24 hour coverage and the “experts” were saying that. He passed 8 years ago. A lot of things I wish I could tell him now.

I think all the yelling is ridiculous. More and more trash showing up to all sports, but especially golf now. You dont heckle golfers unless youre a loser in life.

Yes they were.

quote:

"This is the hardest set of pin locations that I've seen since I've been on Tour, and that includes U.S. Opens, that includes Oakmont... Most of the pins today were, I mean, kind of absurd... The green may slope all this way, and then you put the pin down here, and then there's also a slope this way. It's not as natural to the slopes that are there. There's a bit more manufactured into the greens."

What Scottie said. Plus he noted that it was still fair, just hard.

Compared to what Rory said…

quote:

“I think it's a sign of not a great setup, I think when it's as bunched as it is, because it hasn't really enabled anyone to separate themselves,” he said. “It's like, you know, it's easy to make a ton of pars, hard to make birdies, and not that it's hard to make bogey, but it feels like bogey's the worst score you're going to shoot on any one hole.”

Sorry they didn’t cater to Rory.

Idk if I’d necessarily call it bitching as opposed to just saying that the pins were hard.

Rory calling it a bad setup was definitely bitching. Him and his buddy Lowry both bitched about it.

He bitched . Your American fragility can’t handle it though

He literally said that he didn’t even think they were unfair. You know exactly what he meant when he said “absurd.” You’re as usual, white knighting for the biggest whiny bitch in golf history.

Most rational people would take this as "bitching." what a weird hill to die on.

And even if you don't think that's bitching, there's no way to put this in a different bucket than what Rory said. Your "vastly" different argument is, in Scottie's words....absurd.

When did Rory ever say anything was unfair?

He said they set the course up poorly and didn’t allow for anyone to “separate” themselves. Which, it’s not their job to do. Funny how Rory only bitched like that after he shot over par.

Well congratulations. You’re correct on one thing here.

Now, let’s go over some of the bitchy, soft shite Rory did this week.

1) bitched about the course set up
2) got someone kicked out for the crime of saying “USA” after he was done hitting a ball. Not before, not during his backswing or downswing.

I think the difference was that Rory was bitching and Scottie was a little critical. There's a difference when you say the course has a bad setup and that a bunched up leaderboard was a bad thing (every fan loved it) like Rory did and Scottie simply saying the pins were tough. Add t the fact you have Rory seemingly all the time having incidents with fans telling them to shut the frick and getting him kicked out because a guy shouted USA after his shot.

He's one of the best golfers ever, he's just not very likable.

They were both “bitchingl or “critical” if you want to define it that way. I personally think both were just directly answering a question.

Be honest, if Rory and Josh Allen paired together at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the television coverage was over 4 hours you'd need to go to the ER, wouldn't you?
