I think he gives Dolan a run for his money.

Still think Dolan is the worst
Charlotte will always be Charlotte

No reason the Knicks should be this bad

Ted Stepien (Cleveland Cavs), CBS (NY Yankees during the worst stretch in their history), the Culverhouse family (Tampa Bay Bucs), and John Rigas / Adelphia Cable (Buffalo Sabres)

The worst owner of all time has to be the racist woman who owned the Cincinnati Reds. I dont know her name.

Marge Schott. As much of a POS she was as a person, I don't know if I would qualify her as the worst owner though. The Reds won the World Series and had the seventh highest winning percentage in baseball during her tenure as owner. They were a fairly successful franchise under her watch.

Not a single person but the Atlanta Spirit Group ruined any chance of us ever getting another NHL team

Tom Benson required the commissioner of the NFL to tell him not to move the Saints after Katrina... and tried to pass off his teams to his unfit granddaughter

And used Katrina to extort $400 million over 20 years from STATE tax payers by threatening to move the team to San Antonio! What a POS! Now his old lady is living off hard working state tax payers. State tax payers also paid for his giant replay screen in the dome.

Clay Bennett

Howard Schultz is the worst owner in NBA history. And the gap is not close. Howard stabbed prospective Seattle area owners, such Steve Ballmer by selling the team to Bennett without giving locals a chance let alone a warning.

Dolan would have to lead the Knicks moving to Liitle Rock or some other podunk AAA city to ever reach the depths of Schultz’s awfulness.

Loria is such a shitty human that the new owners tried to claim the Marlins were a British company to not be involved in the cities lawsuit with this a-hole. He bought the team, sold off assets, talked the tax payers into building him a new home, then cashed out the equity. He needs to be in jail

This alone should be enough to slash the thread......

But let's not leave out what he and Bud Selig did to the Montreal Expos before he owned the Marlins. His actions were so egregious that his partners with the Expos filed a RICO lawsuit against him and MLB.

George Shinn

Don’t really understand this. After Katrina, with NOLA in such a disarray, it was Shinn who was adamant about bringing his team back to NOLA, unlike Benson, who really wanted to use Katrina as an excuse to move the Saints. Had Paul Taliabue not intervened, the Saints may very well not be in NOLA today.

Sure, let's forget he was run out of Charlotte and then basically HAD to sell the team as he no longer had any money.

Why is Snyder considered so bad? He has only owned the team since 99. Lots of teams haven't won much in that time period. Pretty sure the Cowboys are sub .500 in that same span..

It's not just about on-field performance. The guy's a flat out terrible human being.

quote:

Real estate agent Pat Hill held season tickets for Washington football since the 1960s, but was hit hard in the housing market crash in 2008 – making it a struggle to afford her $5,300-a-year seats and leaving her to get by on a $400-per-month social security income. When she phoned the team to ask if they could put off her 10-year contract for one or two seasons, they told her no – and then sued her for payment through 2017, plus interest, attorney’s fees, and court costs. Hill could not afford a lawyers, and the 72-year-old grandmother was forced to pay a default judgment of $66,364. Hill is one of 125 season ticket holders who asked to be released from multiyear contracts and were sued by the franchise between 2004 and 2009.

In 2008, when six of Snyder’s ticket office employees hired a lawyer with the aim of suing the team for unpaid overtime wages, they discovered (via some not-so-subtle messages from Washington’s attorneys) that the franchise had written into the contracts that labor disputes could not be taken to court; rather, the cases would be decided by the American Arbitration Association – an organization that been hired by the team. Further, the meetings were to be held behind closed doors with no public record of the proceedings. Then, to cap it off, all the employees named as plaintiffs in the potential suit were fired. Snyder would settle with the employees in 2010.
