Yeah I wonder what would happen if LSU was playing in the national championship and (i know this can't happen) a fan interfered with an LSU TD catch that would have sealed the game, and then they went on to lose. I'm sure the LSU fans would be nice and respectful. Hell the band can't even play songs now because they can't refrain from chanting "suck that tiger dick"

A few years agoban lsu fan messed with a foulball on a weekend sec series on the sunday game.

He got meme after meme and peoplebwere out for blood for and then again when lsu missed poatseason play blaming that guy

Post season is all about luck, don't you know?
Still with 3 top starters and good hitters and great D, I suspect a Cubs loss, if it happens, will be due to the pen that shows it doesn't have prime time depth, or hitters who, beyond Bryant and Rizzo, may struggle against good pitching.

the best team (which the Cubs were this regular season by far) won't win the World Series 4 out of 5 times.
Look, they've already started. Regular season champions

I'm not even a Cubs fan. It is clear to any unbiased observer that the Cubs are the best team in baseball this year though. And they are still more likely to not win the WS this year than win it.

The Cardinals for not making it to the postseason so we could beat up on them again in the postseason.

Madison Bumgarner. And rightfully so. He is a very bad man.

Not a fan, and I have some of the same thoughts about that fan base. A couple of differences are that they kept it on the field. Buckner. It was tough on Buckner, but he is a player who expects some vitriol for screwing up and didn't have to go into hiding. I felt like there was less vitriol in the Buckner situation partially because what happened afterwards always seemed to come in to play with Six fans. Boston also had him come back to Fenway to somewhat of a heros welcome.

Chicago fans seemed to forget for a long time that there were many more opportunities to win in that game alone, much less remember that they had another game to win it.

If Alex Gonzales was the goat of that series, I'd actually have a different viewpoint on Chicago fans

Buckner's life was basically ruined by that play, because of the fans.

Also, as has been mentioned ad nauseum, most Cubs fans got over the Bartman thing pretty quickly and the rest have gotten over it since. And the guy has been invited back to games, to make appearances, etc etc many times since then. But he simply wants to live his life and doesn't want to make money from that. The fans are over it, the city is over it. Hell, if he threw out the first pitch tomorrow, the guy would most likely get the longest standing ovation in Cubs history.
