Senna, and it's not close. Most F1 drivers are really hard to like but Senna was a different breed. To Hell with Prost, btw.
No need to get angry just because he was a better Sunday driver than Senna was.
Mine:
Michael Schumacher
Alain Prost
Nikki Lauda
Sebastian Loeb
Valentino Rossi
Stéphane Peterhansel
Kimi, because Kimi
Jacky Ickx not for F1
Sabine Schmitz the queen of the 'ring has to be somewhere on my list

Not a fan of racing at all, but I did watch some NASCAR in the 1970’s with my grandfather. “Our” favorite driver was Bobby Allison.

It's why I no longer have a favorite driver. I seem to jinx them.
Moore had signed on to Penske for the year after he passed. His replacement was Castroneves. He would've been a multi-time Indy 500 winner and maybe even had a shot an F1 seat.

Senna in F1. The early 90s is when me and my buddies really got in to F1.
Richard Petty in my early childhood. He was my dads and grandads favorite.
Rick Mears in Indycar. Again, my late childhood.

Mark Martin for no other reason he was leading and won the first race I tuned into. Luckily it wasn't someone that had one career victory.

I have had several motocross/supercross guys that I would call my favorites when they were in their prime:
Eli Tomac (when he was in beast mode he would just destroy the competition)
Kevin Windham (K dub was smooth but fast)
James Stewart (could be wild, but when he was on it was a sight to behold)
Ryan Villipoto
Jeremy McGrath (left the competition behind when he came on the scene)
Brad Lackey (first American to go win a championship in Europe when the Europeans were the dominant force in motocross)
Roger DeCoster (was a smooth and controlled rider that was the ultimate professional)
Pierre Karsmaker (first European rider that I got to see in person)
Marty Smith (laconic California kid, one of the first great Honda riders)
Mark Barnett (made his home base in my home state Alabama for a while, just showed up one day at a local track, always loved him after that)
