I would say either Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock. Even when they were heels it was so hard to hate them.

Terry Bradshaw

Tells it like it is. Very funny. His HOF speech was great

I can only think of one person that doesn't like Russell Wilson:

Worldwide its Pele and it isn't close.

North America is Shaq or Gretzky, also not close.

Others I loved growing up were Nolan Ryan, Jr Griffey, and Bo Jackson.

Muhammed Ali

Worldwide for most of his career, probably.

America? He was hated by a large portion of the nation for a good part of his career.

Lighting the flame in Atlanta is what we remember but people don't remember the late 60's early 70's where Americans were rooting for Frazier over Ali because of the draft.

Ali was one of the most polarizing athletes of the 20th Century...until people could see Vietnam and his Muslim militant stance and draft dodging from an historical distance.

BTW, great man...great guy. We were on a flight in around 1982 or 1984 to the East Coast and I was just a kid but Ali was on the flight.

My 4 year old sister went up to ask for his autograph at the urging of my Dad and he signed it and kissed her on the cheek.

Then all these guys just started surrounding his seat to be around him and so he got up and stood in the galley and entertained all these guys on the plane who were awestruck for most of the flight...telling stories, etc. And the flight was like 5 hours long.

He didn't have to do any of that...but he did. Ali had like three separate chapters in his life.

The young brash kid who shocked the world and people didn't like him because he was brash.

The draft dodger which a lot of people applauded and loved and a lot of people hated.

And then the post fighting career Ali where people could take a step back and say...yeah...he was the greatest...and the biggest and most important American athlete of the 20th Century...probably the world.

That's what makes Ali so compelling. He took stances, he wasn't vanilla and he didn't say Republicans buy shoes too.

Also nobody has mentioned Dr. J.

Along with Ali, the nicest superstar I ever met.

A real straight arrow when that wasn't real popular in the 70's NBA.

Madison Avenue loved him and so did America.

Are people downvoting Shaq?

He’s not hateable but he’s not that likable either. He’s vanilla AF.
