ETA: Agree with previous posters mentioning Roger Staubach and Russel Wilson.

Of all those I named above...despite Rice being my favorite athlete of all time, based purely off likability Fitzgerald is pretty awesome.

ETA Jack Nicklaus

CSB about Jack, I was told a story from a golf club pro who qualified for the Zurich (or whatever it was called at the time) golf tournament. Basically, he was hitting balls at the range before tournament starts and who comes up to talk to him, Nicklaus. The guy told me Jack chatted him up for about 20 min asking him all about his life and family.
