Not the greatest living but Albert Pujols had one amazing career. He gets forgot about often.

Ken Griffey Jr. injuries are the only reason he isn’t on the Mount Rushmore.

pre-roid Bonds
Was a .288 hitter with 374 HRS, 1,094 RBIs and 417 SB to go along with 3 MVPs, 7 Gold Gloves, 7 Silver Sluggers, 7 All Stars...

Bonds had HOF numbers and was first ballot without roids. His offensive numbers from 98 on (some say 98, some say 99, but I just went with 98) is otherworldly. From 1998-2004 there was not a more feared hitter. His numbers post and during the steroids were otherworldly, but he is a HOF and was the best player in baseball before steroids.

Any of these other guys had a candy bar named after him?

Hmmmmmmmm?

Seriously, though it has to be Bonds or Rose. I would give Bonds the edge. He was already a hell of a HR hitter in Pittsburgh before San Fran and the PED stuff.....but, he was a damn good base runner and a multiple Gold Glove winner . He was overall complete like Mays and DiMaggio

Heard this stat just the other day:

You could strip Barry Bonds of his stats for all seven of his MVP seasons and he still has 440 homers with 359 stolen bases.

No other player in history has as many HRs and steals as Barry Bonds minus 7 of his best seasons

Truly insane.

I don’t understand the Pete Rose comments. Slap hitter and an average defender.

How did it take almost 60 comments for someone to mention Johnny Bench?

anyone that doesnt say bonds is kind of dumb.

i mean i guess you could make arguements for some of the pitchers, ken griffey jr, pete rose, but overall I dunno how you dont say bonds

and dont say steroids because if that is the case all the old timers used speed, called greenies.

Only MLB manages to keep their greatest players out of the HOF. No Pete Rose, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, or even an A-Rod. Congrats though on Big Pappi showing everyone a PED abuser can be the exception.

Seriously, in the history of pro sports, who has a more corrupt Commish than one Robert D. Manfred, Jr? What a freakin joke of a human being.

Basically what I said....one could argue the first ballot part - but that's splitting hairs.
