its baseball and its not even close. You don't hear about tarnished legacies and sports writers don't control history in soccer. I love baseball but the hardcore baseball fans are absolutely more pretentious.

Venture over to the soccer board. Soccer fans are as pretentious as they come. Think anyone who finds tie scoreless games boring, beneath them. I actually like soccer but I don't look down on people who don't. They do, and of story.

In general soccer fans are worse, but "sabermetrics guy" is insufferable.

I'm one of the biggest soccer fans you'll find. I would say that saying shite like "end of story" is pretentious.

I think he is well aware of the soccer board. I dunno which to pick. Soccer fans are a tight knit group because there are legitimately people too stupid to address their opinion on soccer. You do see this a lot with baseball fans as well.

I think soccer fans are smarter as a whole because the people genuinely interested have to work hard to care about soccer in America. Dumb people don't do that. So if they are more pretentious, it's because they are better.

To be fair, he said "and of story". So, he's not that pretentious.

I think both are pretty even. If someone doesn't like either, the pretentious fan will always claim it is because they don't understand the game.

As someone who has played both, I can see that argument for baseball, even though it isn't true for the vast majority of people I know that don't like it.

Soccer is the most simple sport in the world to learn. I would guess there are fewer rules in soccer than any other sport. Soccer is the one big team sport in America that wasn't created here. I think people are just leery of that, and it has created an odd society that takes pride in making snide remarks towards it.

Eh same goes for Baseball folks who say that the "anticipation of the total 7 minutes of action in a baseball game" is just as exciting.

To each his own on both accounts. Soccer fans seem more pretentious because they feel like they have to make a case for soccer everywhere they go in this country.

Baseball fans are more pretentious because they hold on to the glory of the "national pastime" without realizing that football is far more important and has been for some time.

I like football much more than baseball, but i never understood why some football fans are threatened by baseball fans outlook on their sport.
