re: Who is a better QB: Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers?

Rodgers at his peak was probably the most talented QB ever. Getting the 2016 Packers to the NFCCG was an amazing feat
ETA: I obviously hate the Saints but I acknowledge that Brees is one of the best pure passers of all time. But Rodgers has made some plays that defy physics like the throw to Jared Cook that beat Dallas in 2016. I'm not sure anyone else in history could have made that laser throw on the run

I cant even believe this is a discussion. Brees would do much better in who had the better career. But better QB... C'mon man. Brees does not protect the ball very well. This is not a close discussion

Peak prime? Rodgers. I don’t think anyone is more physically gifted at the qb position...ever. Some of the throws he makes on the run don’t seem possible. It’s like he’s cheating physics
Brees will probably have the better overall career though just because he is mentally so much better. He also never had a big arm so the fading effect won’t be as noticeable in his latter years.

Rodgers. Sure, Brees has better accuracy, but Rodgers has better mobility and turns the ball over a lot less than Brees.

Ok but how does that make him among the talented QBs ever?
Apparently he was good enough to be drafted no. 1 overall despite playing at Louisiana Tech which I believe was a D2 school at the time or something to that effect, dude had arm strength, height, build, mobility and athleticism the total package hence why he is who he is in the legacy of the NFL

This would be a great question in a more neutral setting. Saints fans will automatically say Brees, all non-Saints fans will say Rodgers to troll said Saints fans.
Rodgers has the more prototypical arm but Brees is a better leader. Both HoF QBs.

Rodgers can make throws Brees could never make.
Rolling out to his left falling backward defender in his face perfect 30 yard strike.

Rodgers played with better WRs and better defenses. That is not up for debate. It’s a close call. A-A-Ron definitely has a better PED/SF bathhouse game, though.

Rodgers probably gives you a better chance of winning outdoor playoff games. That's what gives him the nod for me. Brees is better on turf but you need an all terrain QB.

The only argument Rodgers has is his TD/INT ratio
Posted on 5/17/18 at 9:26 pm to CBandits82
All that really matters is that they both have rings, while Matt Ryan's team blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl.

Not insignificant

I hate that stat as some meaningful plus/minus. As long as a guy moves his team/is efficient and doesn't throw picks, who cares how many 2 yd TD passes he has to "offset" the picks statistically? In other words, I feel like we overinflate the value of the last play of a drive, though I understand the important of performing well in the red zone, I guess.

Rodgers hates his family and his family hates him
So I’ll take Drew
So I’ll take Drew

This is true, but man I’m gonna be disappointed if we can only win one SB with Rodgers. He’s got 4458 yards 36-10 TD/INT and a 99.4 rating in 17 playoff games, with a 10-7 record. In those losses his defense allowed: 51, 37, 45, 23, 28, 26, and 44. Absolutely ridiculous.

Accuracy is a draw. Rodgers has more mobility and makes throws on the run that nobody else can make. Much like Drew, his prime is being wasted on a team that puts a shite defense on the field.

Remember that time you argued Colston > Antonio Brown cuz he’s bigger? Good times
