Remember Jay Buhner Being a guy hitters knew not to run on. He was known for throwing out guys that tried for an extra base, or guys trying to score from 2nd base on a fly ball.

Throws on this YouTube video

1:57 mark he makes a throw from the warning track to 2nd.

2:29 Probably the best one. he catches a ball off the wall and pegs a guy at 2nd.

10:17 mark he makes a throw from the warning track to first, that gets there in a hurry.

Richard Hidalgo didn’t have the big name like the others but he definitely had a big arm. I saw Junior play against the Rangers in 90. Just watching him warmup in the pregame was awe inspiring.

I've watched Aaron Judge play a number of times and man he throws that damn ball hard. Pretty sure I've heard he throws in the mid 90s when getting it to the infield

Gonna sound crazy but Mark Hicks the center fielder for West Monroe High school back in the early 80s had the best outfield arm that I have ever seen.

Best I have seen person, Rick Ankiel.

To mention another name that I have not seen in this thread, Mark Whiten, had a cannon from the outfield. But I have not seen an outfield arm like Ankiel. The ball just looked different coming out of his hand.

Clemente for me and yes, I'm that old. My granddad was a huge Pirates fan (I like the Orioles back then). The amount of torque and arm speed he got out of that skinny body was unreal with great accuracy. Granddad lived in Bridgewater, PA so it wasn't much of a trip to see the Pirates play.

saw Bo a couple of times when he was in double A in Memphis

That was a show, and did someone mention impressive in warmups? He would lay it on the 3rd base bag from right field repeatedly.

I recall going to the Astrodome for a game as a young boy and seeing Terry Puhl play long toss before the game. He was throwing from RF to another player near the plate, making the throw look effortless (the other player really had to run, crow hop, and throw to get it back to him, usually on a bounce or 2). It seemed surreal.

Expos might of had best OF arms ever, in 1 outfield.

Ellis Valentine,Warren Cromartie, and Andre Dawson had f'in arms. And could all gun your arse out.

Mark Whitten, Emdonds, etc all had good arms. Edmonds was his ability to play shallow, and made it a shorter throw.

As far as current guys, I know Statcast has tracked Aaron Hicks throwing one like 106 before :what:

No idea if that was a one-off or not

Jackie Bradley Jr has a hose, too

Got to see them at the Dome too. You are correct, what a collection of arms they were.
