My guess is competition climbing is antithetical to his nature. These action sports guys are really weird about comps vs free riding.

Speed climbing is completely different than big wall climbing.

He isn't a speed climber. I am not sure who is competing but names like Veddriq Leonardo, Kiromal Katibin and Reza Alipour ring out in speed climbing.

Olympic speed climbing is a completely different sport than what honnold does. There is actually a video on YouTube of him trying it out against a young speed climber and he gets destroyed

Ondra is absolutely the best climber in the world, bar none. Possibly the best climber in history. He will do well in the lead and bouldering portions but not so well on the speed wall. Will be interesting to see if he can pull it off.
