True, not sure why I always get that screwed up. Griese was an observational opinion which is why I said I wasn't sure. I was young when I saw him playing and he just didn't seem like he was as good as many others I remembered from back then, though his team was usually very good. I didn't realize all the accolades he had.

Isn't that THE goal? To win the Super Bowl? When the moment arrived they succeeded.
Aikman was a great quarterback, he was accurate, tough and a great leader. He came through on the game's biggest stage including the second game against the Bills while still suffering the effects of the concussion he suffered against the Niners in the NFC championship game. He wouldn't be allowed to play in that game nowadays. Without Aikman they don't reach the Super Bowl.
Aikman played when the NFL allowed defenders to smash the qb. Imagine Brady, Brees, etc. playing in that era. Their stats would be a lot different and their careers likely shorter. Brady would have at least three less Super Bowls, lol.

Namath was also the very first true NFL superstar. He had a larger-than-life personality that saw him on the cover of magazines, appear as a guest star on popular TV shows, and star in television commercials. He was also one of the smoothest, greatest womanizers of the latter half of the 20th century, bedding A-listers left and right.

Well there are plenty of players that won a SB that are not in, just like there are plenty of players who are in that never won one.

You are an idiot about Franco.

Arguably the overrated athlete in North American sports history. If Earl Morrall and John Unitas don't combine to have 27 turnovers in Super Bowl III, Namath would never be talked about.

On another note: are there examples of single plays that have kept players out of the HOF?
Devonta Freeman forgetting how to block probably cost Matt Ryan a HOF spot.
Freeman should have spent more time that week studying Patriots film instead of whining about his contract. frick him with a cactus.

Cam Newton not falling on the fumble.

Aikman had 10 concussions. shite, Brady probably didn’t have 1. The football rules were so pro-QB in Brady’s term. If Aikman played in Brady’s era, he would’ve had more Super Bowls

And it wasn't just a Super Bowl victory..... It was Thee Super Bowl victory... It legitimized the merger. That's why he got the favorable treatment. Tds, 173...Ints, 220.

Lynn Swann
Terrible stats overall. He is not a pro bowl player much less a hall of fame player.
They put him in the hall of fame b/c he made a great catch in the Super Bowl and had good stats for two super bowls.

Some possible examples:
-Jim Marshall’s wrong way run
-Jackie Smith’s drop (he got in in 1994, but he probably gets in way earlier otherwise)
-Roger Craig’s fumble
-Gary Anderson’s missed kick
History has yet to tell, but if Russell Wilson completes the pass or if they run and score v. The patriots that's 2 sb and one of the greatest winning TD drives to give him 2 rings and he's definitely in, as of now likely not.
