Yea, I'm thinking Tech will get an AAC invite when the next shuffling happens.
Honestly, I wouldn't be excited about the new AAC , especially after the most recent CUSA addictions. It would be like CUSA 3.0. Plus I’m sure the remaining AAC schools, especially SMU, Memphis, & Central
Are looking for way out with quickness. I for one would prefer SBC.

sounds like the USM and Marshall moves are nothing but message board fodder
Whelp Latech fans, I just got a text from a friend in Huntington... Looks like James Madison has chosen the Belt and ODU and Marshall are hitching a ride. Would only make sense that USM is gone pecan as well to give a crumb to the West.
I will say this though to fans in the SBC West, the power is now fully in the East, and ODU and Marshall administrators both played a large part in what has happened to CUSA. Both have a vision for a conference that doesn't stretch beyond the Eastern time zone.

Honestly the feelings are mutual. ULM doesnt stoke the same animosity
That's because ULM and Tech haven't played football since the 90's. Let them get back to playing each other and you will get all the animosity you want.

The CUSA president should be fired.
The LaTech President should be fired.
The LaTech AD should be fired.
What those 3 have done to LaTech may not be correctable.
All I am hearing now is independent - but no one can explain how that will work with the non-football sports. For football, it would be great.
I defer judgement on Holtz because I don’t know enough about the program. But based on the last 15 games or so, he may need to be let go.
What a day in Ruston. This has to top the 2012 bowl fiasco. This has to top the 2004 CUSA fiasco.
I actually feel bad for the loyal fans of Louisiana Tech.

Second order of business should be to throw a buttload of money at Karl Benson to build them back up.

I was talking about from the Cajuns standpoint. The ULM rivalry is there since they play every year buts it's not really heated. Any hatred feels forced. Both schools relationship with La tech is different

Can we just review the last two months for Tech fans
September: Blow a 20-point fourth quarter lead at Mississippi State
September: Lose on a Hail Mary to SMU
October: Backuo quarterback wastes 30 seconds on the final drive potentially costing you a win on the road against nationally-ranked NC State
October: You make five trips to the red zone resulting in 3 points, ultimately losing by two touchdowns to UTEP… fricking UTEP
Today: You have watched 9 of your 14 members depart for another conference and now await two more to go to the MAC. The conference will dissolve at that point with you getting no exit fees and forced to go independent

UTEP is 6-1. It's not like Tech lost to a 2 win team.

Southland, or does CUSA try and lure powerhouses like Sam Houston, Lamar, and McNeese State?
Posted on 10/22/21 at 4:33 pm to NoBoDawg
No one is talking - which I guess is not good news.
The SBC ain’t offering LaTech and LaTech ain’t accepting….so, it appears ESPN is dismantling CUSA. Love or hate LaTech, any college booster or fan should be nervous about how much power ESPN wields.
I guess LaTech rides out the storm like they did when the WAC caved and hope to be picked up during the next reshuffle?

I don't really think the ULM-ULL is really a rivalry. Like you said, if it is, it is forced. There just isn't the history there that there is with Tech. Plus, you actually need to be a winner to stoke a rivalry and ULM hasn't exactly proved they can get out of the gutter very often. Plus, ULM has a new breed of fans. I think they honestly are all up into LSU and following ULM is just an afterthought. Students come to ULM and barely even attend a game. There is very little local talent playing at ULM to spark local interest. They go out and get JUCO's that nobody in NE LA has even heard of. Plus, and I am sure this irks more NLU era alumni is why would they just let ULL take over the name Louisiana without so much as a fight. That shite bothered me at first but that ship sailed years ago to the point that who really cares besides the insecure Corndog fans?
I would welcome getting Tech back into an every year game. I think it would spark some level of interest back into a program at ULM that honestly has let Tech lap it many times over.

A lot of people in Monroe care about that game. If ULM ever gets to where they’re competitive and people start caring again that rivalry will get intense. ULM “didn’t fight it” because our president was a clown. I liked Bruno a lot as a person and he did a lot of good for the university but giving up that fight was an awful decision from a university morale standpoint. I’ve reached the point of apathy about it because nothing is going to change it and at the end of it, as long as we’re still in the same table, it really doesn’t matter much. That decision made the university look incredibly incredibly weak though.
As an athlete there was always alittle extra motivation anytime we lined up against tech and ULL. Most of the time fruitless motivation but motivation still. We were all friends before and after competing but when the gun went off there was no one we wanted to beat more.
