I don’t have any issue with Arch. I think he’s a good kid and I generally pull for him to do good (won’t be the case in November). But I think he’s just a good college quarterback, not generational, just good.

Look, I get why this board says stuff like this, it's CFB focused. But think about the types of guys going high in the draft. Anthony Richardson went 4th overall. He started 13 games in college. JJ McCarthy went 10th. Zach Wilson went 2nd. Trey Lance went 3rd. None of these dudes were world beaters in college, and none of them were named Manning. The NFL drafts for traits and upside, not just college production. Arch is big and fast and is in the most football-royalty family there is. He will 100% go in the top 10 (whether this year or next year).

I don’t know if he will be a franchise QB (if we define that as a productive starter for 5+ years with the same team) in the NFL.
I do respect him, though. It takes a hell of a lot more than a last name to be the starting QB at Texas, and if he does nothing more than that it will be impressive.

No. He wouldn’t have been recruited by Texas out of high school but for his name. There are tons of kids every Friday night playing 2A ball doing what he did.
He hasn’t really proven anything at UT either. I’m not saying he’s bad, he’s not, but he’s massively overhyped.
