Alabama's dynasty
Only one undefeated season
Didn't win the division or conference in 2011 and 2017
Only got in in 2012 because tOSU was on probabtion
Took a gutsy onside kick call to turn momentum in 2015
Switched to a true freshman in the 2nd half that throws a walk of TD after taking a sack and making it 2nd and 26
Only Saban

When I was a little kid the '72 Dolphins Perfect Season grabbed South Florida by storm.
The Sunday round of the '86 Masters might still be my top "unexpected" sports thrill.
The '03 Marlins playoff and World Series run was great.

Home run chase in 98
Greatest Show on Turf's run to the championship in 99. The Rams were awful in the 90s and that season looked to be doomed when Trent Green went down.
The Patriots first Super Bowl run. Tom Brady shocked everyone taking over that team. Drew Bledsoe was still there as the entrenched franchise QB and had led them to a Super Bowl once before.

I'm from Northern Virginia and people were absolutely freaking out when GMU and VCU made the Final Four in 2006 and 2011
I lived in Norfolk in 2011. VCU and Richmond being in the Sweet 16 in the same region that year was really cool. If Richmond had beaten Kansas and the Elite Eight game was VCU/Richmond, it would have been awesome.
ETA: My personal favorite was Kent State's miraculous run to the College World Series in 2012. They had to beat Kentucky in 21 innings to get out of the regional and then played 3 incredible games at Oregon to get to Omaha. Ending #1 Florida's season felt like icing on the cake at that point.

The 2015 Hawks were so much fun, it's hard to describe unless you're a Hawks fans and watched it game by game like I did.
I was in college and would go pick up Mexican food or Zaxby's and listen to Steve Holman on my way back from class every night before watching the 2nd halves.
Went to like 7 or 8 games that year. It was surreal, and I lost my shite on Horford's putback in Game 5 against Washington.

I would say having a once in a lifetime NBA talent at my old high school... Or when we went 10-0 into the playoffs before losing in round 2...

You proud of this too???
I noticed that you did not bring up 2009 when you probably lose to Texas if Colt doesn't get hurt.... But carry on....

Ricky Williams breaking the career rushing record was cool to watch.
Also watching Melvin Gordon and Samaje Perine set the college single game rushing record in consecutive weekends was crazy.

Brewer's final week in 2008. Hadn't been to the postseason in 26 years. Fighting with the Mets and I believe the Cubs for the wildcard. Then this happened:

It's crazy how few remember that outside the San Antonio bubble
Because no one watched since the Spurs run gave the NBA it's 2 worst rated Finals series ever. 4 of the top ten worst rated ever involved the Spurs.
Unfortunate since the Spurs tank job shouldn't have been rewarded with ANOTHER generational 7 Footer( Duncan).

Well, you have a laundry list of bullshite titles to add to.
Nobody cares anymore. You can hang the banners but it's all still mythical.
Why didn't UCF get a shot? Or Oklahoma State in years past? Or Ohio State? They won their conference.
It's beyond common sense that only a Bama fan would be proud that they worked/politicized the system and fleeced the general public for their own benefit.
It's ruined CFB, nobody cares anymore.
Hang the Banner...Alabama, 135 National Championships. Who gives a shite when it's all poppycock and folderol until we have a real playoff and not a politics contest.
I've been watching CFB since 1980.
I've never seen a National Champion on the field.
I've seen it in the papers though.

Gathers was a beast... unreal player who like Len Bias would been every year all stars in the NBA......
You could project him as an X-man - Nique guy (but without the outside scoring ability of Nique) - at the very least he would have been a rebounding king...he loved rebounding he said.

I am sill very upset that I did not get the chance o see Gathers with whatever team and Bias with those late 80's Celtics..............

This is bitterness speaking and I welcome it
IIRC, SA won that lottery again when they ran the numbers again. We were destined to get Timmy.

The Kings first cup run. I'm a Bruins fan, but damn if them going 12-2 as an 8 seed to make the finals didn't amaze me. Took them 6 games to win the finals so they missed out on having the most dominant postseason ever, but still, they were an 8 seed and I never saw that kinda run coming from them.
Funnily enough, their 2nd cup run they won three game 7s to get to the finals.
