What will the Patriots do with Mac Jones?

Can he turn this around? Or is it time to draft someone else?

Jones finished 12-of-21 for 150 yards and zero touchdowns before being replaced by backup Bailey Zappe late in the third quarter. Our Patriots insider Tom E. Curran didn't hold back in his evaluation of not only Jones' performance, but also his effort in the blowout loss.
"What I saw from Mac Jones, and part of the reason I think he ended up on the bench, is I saw a little quit in him. I saw a little give up," Curran said on Patriots Postgame Live. "Some of the throws he was making, especially the one that, air-mailed JuJu Smith-Schuster was, 'I just gotta get this ball out of here and get out of here before I get hit.' And that hasn't been him. He's been willing to take the hits and he's not in a position where he's been with this team long enough to allow your on-field leader to say, 'F it.' And I thought that that looked like an 'F it' throw and an 'F it' effort."

Curran adds that while Belichick had every reason to bench Jones, the team simply needs to turn the page after the abysmal performance because the starting QB situation isn't changing.
"This was a benching by Bill Belichick out of disgust. You could see it on Bill Belichick's face on the sideline there and he had reason to be disgusted," he said. "The two picks, the strip sack, and then that lazy arse throw to JuJu Smith-Schuster. Actually, that sideline throw too where he was panicking. He looked like how I would have looked like in that instance, 'Ah! What am I gonna do?'

Draft someone else.
He may be rebuilt somewhere but I think the Pats are done with him. And the Pats have a reputation as QB whisperers.

Always said Mac Jones was a glorified Craig Krenzel, Ken Dorsey or Chris Wienke.

Get him some weapons. Do they really think Bo Nix or Michael Penix Jr. would do any better with the horrific receiving corps they have now?

You have to draft someone else at this point.
I truly think he’s a top 15 QB. But it’s over.
The Patriots are too retarded and Mac is too much of a count for this relationship to continue.

It doesnt help that their entire offensive roster is replacement level players. Their most explosive player is a 6th round rookie from Liberty.

Other than Mac, the only two players on the Patriots I can name without looking up the roster are Elliott and that Bourne guy. And it' a past-his-prime Elliott at that.

He's going to be given the rest of the year to figure it out, but I would imagine if the Pats still suck and get a high draft pick they will go QB.

Theyre all past their prime including Belichick. Time to hang it up.

Is it okay if I call Mac a garbage qb?

If they do move on from him it’ll be interesting to see if any other QB, particularly a rookie, can do any better with those current skill players. Tom Brady was able to do so, but it’s hard to expect any QB to come in and do what Tom Brady could do.
That’s not to say Mac is blameless. He certainly shares in the blame.

I think that its ok if you call Mac a garbage QB at this current juncture, but you can't deny that he has been completely fricked by the partiots with Patricia as his OC last season, Buttchin as his OC this season, and absolutely ZERO impact offensive players since he's been there.

Mac is certainly not good...but surrounding him with a bunch of journeyman WRs was a bad plan
We'd probably have a completely different view of him had the 9ers taken him in that draft. Is he less talented than Brock Purdy?

That and giving him Matt Patricia (a defensive coordinator) as his offensive coordinator in the second season of his career probably hurt his development.
