That Vince Young thread got me thinking

Is it USC VS Texas?

That was my favorite game ever that didn’t involve a team I support

Boise State vs Oklahoma in the Fiesta was also a good one

A few of my favorites just off the top of my head.

USC v Texas, 2005
OSU vs Miami, 2002
USC vs Notre Dame, 2005
Baylor vs TCU, 2014 (Alma-Mater)

Probably. At least in my lifetime.

It’d be hard to say it would be any game without the national title on the line.

That being said, 2002 BCS title Ohio St/ Miami gets serious consideration. 2OT and some absolute freak athletes on both sides of the ball.

USC Texas had everything

Title stakes
2 Hesmain winners
Texas being an underdog despite being statistically better
Controversial calls
Momentum swings
Clutch defensive play on 4th down
Incredible individual effort by Young
Drama til the very end

Plus it was the Rose Bowl, probably the most famous CFB setting

It's my #1 for sure

USC vs Texas is probably the answer. Just an incredible game and incredible ending.

That game was good only because of the circumstances not because of the game itself if that makes sense. 1 vs 2. Incredible defenses. National championship part 1. Etc.
