I think most people are fine with it on Gameday. But, in the press box during the game is a bit much. If Gus Johnson did this, nearly everyone on here would be calling it out.

How bout I just bring my dog and see if your inhaler works?
The people in this thread that said they prefer dogs because people are shitty are talking about people like you.

For you and all the other POS's on this thread, care to say that to my face? Name the time and place. Inhalers can't always save someone
This person tries to act tough on the internet and now disappears. Come back and tell us where we can meet you.

Well of course he doesn’t. That would probably give him an asthma attack too.

Yeah because if Gus has a dog it’s a little yappy frick

But for real, if you do your job well and people are receptive, you can get away with bringing your dog. If Gus brought his dog and called games the way he did March Madness circa 2008, he’d be great.

That’s kind of my point though, it’s not like he has a regular job. He is in the entertainment, industry, and people are clearly entertained by his dogs, even people that don’t really care about football. If your wife is sitting there watching the game with you and she’s not a big sports fan odds are very very good that she is going to pay attention to that 30 or 45 seconds that his dog is on camera. I promise you she did not care about Bill Belichick‘s team getting fricked in the arse on national television. it’s the same reason why Swifties tune into the Chiefs games. It’s annoying as frick to me, but it draws eyeballs and it just is what it is

I just resent that we have to deal with his dog because he's mentally ill. Christ.

Did he really cheat on his wife?

It was a cute little story when he would bring his old dog around because the dog was dying and didn't have much time left. But doing the same thing with the new young dog is weird and has jumped the shark.

If it wasn’t a golden retriever it would get old but since it is it’s cool. Everyone loves golden retrievers

Eh, I don’t know if he’s actually saying that. As another poster mentioned, he’s in the entertainment industry. He’s rich. He’s not exactly going into the office 9-5, and the majority of this board isn’t flying across 3 time zones a week for 5 months a year. Thats a grind, and if he can bring his dog along and the boss doesn’t care, good for him. I’d do it too.

Is it some sort of medical condition? Anxiety? I feel like it's gone overboard and just become weird.
This was my guess after watching week 1 of Game Day. I think its an anxiety issue and they just use it as a cover.

I hate how people forget or just flat out ignore that a lot of us are allergic to dogs. And just from a professionalism aspect, unless it's a service dog, it has no businesses at the workplace.
You are the one with the "condition", maybe you dont belong in the work place?

All his hollerin' would probably scare his pooch.

It all started after Lane started bringing his dog around the Ole Miss program and it started blowing up. Kirk saw that was like man I'm going to start bringing my dog around to get some more attention.
I get him now "needing" the dog but from what I'm seeing on tv it is really getting in the way. Last year they had problems getting him out of the way during the kick segment, then this year obviously him taking a shite right there. It'd be different if he were trained but he just wanders around and gets in the way on set/in the booth.
