From a scouting standpoint, what is it? Honest question.
While Daniels had a great career and all-time great season, it did take him until his 5th year whereas Williams won his Heisman in only his 2nd year, while Caleb was a clear superstar from his true freshman season when they benched Rattler.

Now on the flip side of that, I think Daniels is probably much more mature, both because he’s older but also because he had to put in the work to develop to where he is. That will probably give him an advantage there.

But I think in terms of raw physical talent, there are few more talented then Caleb. But obviously history has shown (Leaf, Jamarcus, etc.) that physical talent isn’t enough on its own. That said, it’s probably enough to take the chance.

JD has all markings of a superstar.
I’d like him to gain another 10 but if I’m the Chicago Bears I don’t blink and take JD.

Watched most of USC's games the last two years.

Caleb is not that fast.

He's a good hopper around in the pocket against shitty defenses, but he's no Josh Allen... And certainly, no Lamar.

Other than stronger arm and bigger body not much. Daniels may get broken in half in the NFL if he runs too much.

In 2021, Jayden Daniels had a 65% completion, 2300 yards, 10 TDs and 10INTs against the Pac12.

Caleb has been the best player on the field since he came in against Texas in 2021.

I wouldn’t draft either in the first round unless I was a GM and was seriously hard up for a QB this year.

If the redskins draft one I believe a change of scenery would be great for Howell and his development.

Now do a comparison of their stats from the 2023 season. Hell, Jayden's WORST game in 2023 was as good as Caleb's BEST games.

You’ll get downvotes from simpletons who believe listed height, but Caleb fools people with big elevated hair. He’s significantly shorter than Lincoln Riley even in cleats.

It is luck. Both of those QBs could be great or shite depending on the team/system/WR talent etc. Neither is a “sure shot” prospect like T. Lawrence was

That is my concern about both players. Durability is an issue, and despite the NFL's overstated attempts to protect QB's from getting hit, they're gonna get hit. Neither one is built to take those hits. So, while both are talented and will be fun to watch, I just wonder how long they will stay healthy.
