Nah it’s the Chiefs Raiders

The Raiders Broncos became something only in 70’s. The Raider Chiefs is an AFL blood feud with Hunt and Davis also mixed in.

The rivalry is so heated that KC turned on Bo throwing baseballs and stuff at him his first time as a Raider in Arrowhead.

I really can’t think of any nfl rivalries that mean much to anyone outside of the teams’ cities at this point. DAL/NY teams obviously get the best ratings but having lived in NY I think NYG fans care much more about NYJ than any other team.

Falcons/Saints is underrated on a national level.

I'd put Rangers vs. Celtic as the world's best soccer rivalry.

I would say I agree from a historical context, but it has fallen on hard times since Rangers administration. My money, both historically and up to and including now, would be Fenerbache vs Galatasaray. The division is not only along religious lines, but continental lines as well. It's crazy to think the Bosporus divides a city, two continents, and two cultures. Away fans are not even allowed at matches anymore due to attacks and even murders.
As for just outright hate, there are a few more contentious ones imho.
For example:
Partisan vs. Red Star
Ujpest vs. Nemzeti

If I'm completely honest with myself I might hate the Saints more than I love the Falcons

Bears/Packers and Cowboys/Redskins are historically the two biggest NFL rivalries.

Knicks/Pacers and 76ers/Celtics are underrated NBA rivalries.

Yeah people think it's Raiders/Broncos...but Chiefs/Raiders is the oldest (compared to Broncos) and the most bad blood.

Lamar Hunt sort of screwed Al Davis over when Al was the commish of the AFL...Lamar merged behind his back and conceeded to the NFL that their choice would be commish of the merged league.

Davis had become the AFL commissioner in 1966 but Hunt and Schramm agreed that the NFL’s Pete Rozelle, not Davis, would be the commissioner of the merged league. Davis never truly forgave Hunt.

And Yankees/Red Sox is kinda like Celtics/Lakers before 1984.

As the Celts used to joke, how can it be a great rivalry when we beat you all the time.

Yankees have 27 World Titles after 1918, Red Sox have 3 since 1918.

I think that's a more angst over one team from Boston than a mutual rivalry.

A lot of "rivalries" are like this, often the team that isn't close to the other seems to make it all important.

Giants are like this with the Dodgers. Giants care way more than the Dodgers. Dodgers still care about the Yankees from the 1940's and 1950's - let alone the 1970's. Dodgers are more national like the Yankees, Giants resent that.

Yankees and Dodgers played 6 times between late 1940's and early 1950's for the WS title. Then you had that late 1970's battles.

Good point.

I think Lakers/Celtics is about as close as you can get. Two Kings, east coast vs. west coast covers most of the country.

I just don't buy Yankees/Sox outside of the east coast...one team owns the other. Bitching and crying from one fan base does not a rivalry make.

ESPN has tried to make it national.

How can you use the term "Historically" when talking about a team that is 40 years younger than the league? The Cowboys only came into existence in 1960, and weren't really revelant until a couple of decades later.
