It’s college baseball. Nobody gives a shite.

The only time music at a stadium has given me chills is V Tech Enter Sandman. That’s an experience.

After you’ve seen that, the rest is meh

If you like this, you would really love it when 60k WVU fans are singing it after a big football win.

It's interesting when the drunk Germans and big breasted beer maidens sing it at Oktoberfest.

Never heard that one before! West Virginians don’t have teeth? Ha, you should do comedy!

I was there as well and experienced nothing but “thanks for visiting” and invitations to tailgates at the pregame & game.

I find this very hard to believe.

Technically Kentucky was once the western part of Virginia, so really, they're celebrating us

Believe or don’t believe, I don’t believe I care…..

Played Cornhole for a while in a parking lot on the south side of the Hampton Inn on Van Hooris with some WVUers, they had killer brisket. Walked big loop through campus and stopped at a couple of locals spots, got all the way down to Hope Coliseum (their PMAC) where the LSU RVs were. Hung out there for a while with some pharmacist named George who had a Butt Paste thing going in/around his new shiny toy.

Had box seats for the game so maybe I didn’t get the same treatment if I’d have been amongst the unwashed. Everyone at the game was really nice and happy to see me as a visitor.

At that stadium was the first time I’d seen general beer sales at a regular season CFB. In the suites the alcohol was included but they had some local microbrewery stuff on tap out in the general area and I went out and made a couple of beer runs for that and the crowd folks were really nice.

After the game, walking out it was the same. I don’t recall one a-hole for the whole day. Lotsa really drunk people but nothing confrontational though.

Colorado vs West Virginia should have a trophy game with a John Denver statue

Cal Poly gonna be culture shocked to the hilt. Or if Kentucky didn't choke, they could have come to Lexington, which is better than Morgantown.

If Colorado won it, they’d make it into a huge bong.

If WV won it, they’d cut it up and get cash from the metal recycler for a certain popular recreational habit many of them regularly participate in.

If you talk to WVU fans they will tell you that even though we lost, that was one fun weekend. I remember LSU fans running through classes, Gameday being in town, and the atmosphere was great.

The WVU fanbase is a much better cultural fit for the SEC than Missouri.

that song isn’t even about West Virginia anyway

Yes. I’m annoyed.

It was written in Maryland about a road there, incorporating geographic entnties mostly in Virginia, uses the the state of West Virginia by name, not western virginia, and they originally wanted it to be about Massachusetts.

It's almost like it's a fluid work out art, not a tribute to anything, that was rightfully incorporated into the culture of West Virginia.

WVU fans are very welcoming. You might run into some rowdy a-hole students like anywhere but most of their season ticket holder fans are known for inviting outsiders to their tailgates.

My friends and I used to do whitewater rafting trips all around the country and our first one was in W Virginia (the New and Gauley rivers, awesome). It's where we first learned the term "Mountain Dew mouth". It's a thing.

I'm a Carolina fan, and don't have a dog in the fight between Bama and UTK. But the song is clearly about Tennessee.

And Country Roads is about Virginia.
