I was in Chapel Hill NC at the Regional, and they were a very Senior laden (5th Yr player) type team and at home.
We had a ton of fans there, but as with most hosting teams many if not most of the close calls, pitches, and breaks went their way.
1. If we'd hosted in Baton Rouge we could have beaten UNC
2. It's our own fault for not getting that done.
3. If we'd won that final we would have beaten WV and been in Omaha.
I don't think we would have won it all, but in the end an ACC team knocked us out. They deserved it as they came through in the clutch and we didn't.
That sums up our season. So many close plays that could have gone our way, but we didn't execute. Next year guys!

You could say that most years because the power of college baseball is largely consolidated into two conferences. ACC and SEC. Of the 34 at large teams 1/2 (17) came from those two conferences.

Yeah, the SEC is better. I don't think anyone was arguing otherwise. ACC is clearly the 2nd best though and it's not even close.

The sport is becoming more and more regionalized every year. And it’s not a good thing IMO.

the ACC is an elite baseball conference and are the #2 conference behind the SEC year in year out in the conference rankings but the SEC is in a class of its own.
I don’t think Jay was too far off saying we could’ve been in first in any other conference. You have to exclude the ACC in that statement obviously but any other one I think even this LSU team could’ve won such as the big 12 for instance.
ETA our final RPI is #15 which outside of the SEC/ACC was the highest in the country besides Oregon St and Indiana St

ACC had 4 of the 8 MCWS teams this year.
I’m with the OP here. We were told how great the ACC was all year, and they were good, don’t get me wrong. But if your conference goes 0-5 against the other conference in Omaha, I wouldn’t call that great.

There were 5 ACC teams that won their regional. All of them defeated a SEC team in order to do that. Both conferences are way above the rest. It's ok to admit that the ACC was basically on the same level as the SEC this year.

ACC - 3-8
SEC - 9-4

I never said that ACC teams are the best teams in the country, but the two conferences were on the same level this year. I 100% think that Tennessee and Texas A&M are the two best teams. If you are just judging off of Omaha, do you think that Florida was really the 3rd best team in the country this year?

ACC was still a very good conference. It’s pretty clear the southeast dominates college baseball, and it includes both the SEC and ACC. Honestly, who the hell actually cares about other teams in their conference?

I would actually watch if an ACC team was in the final or even two ACC teams. The only reason to watch A&M vs Tennessee is to see if a meteor strikes
