Of course Mexico draw South Africa. fricking bullshite. They always get an easy group. At least they got stuck with France.
And thankfully the US has a good chance to advance and additionally they are paired with Group D.

i was so rooting for us to get argentina and be paired with group a, but im fine with this group as well
best draw we might have ever gotten imo. man, this sucks even more though that we arent going to be at full strength, we could do major fricking damage at full strength

Yeah. The US is set in a pretty favorable situation. I'm very happy. I thought we may just get screwed. But not only do we have an advancable group, we also may have a chance to get to the round of 8. Especially if we somehow knock off England and win the group.

Group of death by FAR is Portugal, Ivory Coast and Brazil. I like watchin the Ivory Coast ALOT because of their playing style and its goin to suck to not have one of these 3 in the later rounds.
US got a very favorable draw this year. If we can atleast tie England we should be in good shape to advance. Mexico did get a horseshite group. I hate those fricks.

By the way, the ESPN "instant analysis" is a friggin' joke. His picks are all seeded team + the Euro qualifier except in the rarest of cases. Europe is the strongest region, but it's not going to get all of its teams through. That's crazy.

Looks like there's two groups of death and two cupcake groups. Favorable draws all around IMO. And the US certainly has a great chance to make the quarters.

So, how does this work? Teams in each pool play each other to decide a group winner, and the eight group winners advance to a single elimination tournament?

Top two in each group advance to Round of 16, where it then becomes single elimination.

Group winner from Group A plays the runner up in Group B. Runner up Group A plays the winner of Group B. That goes all the way down the line.
So if we come out 2nd in our group, we'll probably play Germany in the next round.
