And, according to some of the parents of Washington State football players, the Wazzu program has fired back as well.  By, essentially, firing those who have come out in support of the movement.

Among those is wide receiver Kassidy Woods (pictured), who was told he is technically still on scholarship.

Can you really be released from the team if you already constructively quit the team? Is the player simply mad because the coach is calling his bluff?

If you opt out, then you’re not on the team and you need to get out of the locker room. I don’t see the problem. Do you think the Patriots are going to play with 46 players and leave the 7 that have opted out in the locker room?

Sunday afternoon, players from across the Pac-12 confirmed that they will sit out the 2020 season en masse unless a laundry list of concerns are addressed. Among those are fighting racial injustice, ensuring safety amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, obtain long-term health insurance and secure economic rights and fair compensation

the author didn't include this relevant information

The situation at Washington State boils down to this:

Players who’ve requested to opt out of the season can’t take part in any team activities. You can’t choose to opt out for health and safety reasons and still lift, practice and be in locker room/weight room.

They're going to get ripped by the media and woke crowd, but this needed to happen. It's amazing how little these kids appreciate a free ride to college and other luxuries most students don't get.

It’s refreshing to see someone put these children in their place. Hopefully more universities, teams, companies, etc follow.
