We kind of knew it was in the red already. The current WNBA hoopla is simply an attempt to capture the audience while they're sort of looking.

I have a hard time believing anyone actually watches the WNBA. It is just a poor basketball product. So I am skeptical of the ratings info.

Just checked the stats and last night Clark scored 7 on 3 for 11 shooting.
Her teammates everyone says sucks won them the game scoring 27 and another 24.
This is why you guys suck. Caitlin is a great player but you guys just turned her to you hate tool.
Anyways the WNBA sucks regardless of Caitlin being there or not.

I mean, the majority of the money comes from TV contracts. So even though there has been increased coverage, it’s not like that’s going to result in more money for the league this season even if they do see a rise in ticket sales and merchandise. The increased viewership will have to be taken into account with the next TV contract.

The WNBA is a fascinating look into the psychological view of jealousy and entitlement in the business world. I’d love to hear Adam Silver freely discuss the missteps that have occurred this past 1.5 years in preparing the league for this years predictable media frenzy.

You do realize that they use an existing infrastructure? The NBA is letting them use their arenas, probably at no cost. If they were left without the NBA’s protection, they fold within a year. They can’t even afford chartered flights now, imagine if they have to purchase a private plane like the men’s sports. Your constant shill for the WNBA yet I bet you can’t name all the teams.
