It would be nice if there was some possibility of a potential of innocence before guilt is determined. We saw what happened to Jalen Kitna for sharing an image of a girl he had no reason to believe was underage. After the charges are dropped, he still has the stigma of a pedophile.
Franco is getting banished from the MLB already, but what if this isn't what it is being reported as?

It's more common in 3rd world countries. We live in a place that is built on wealth and modernity and we don't really relate to what life is like in most of the world.
If you're from the South and you look at your family tree history, you will probably see a lot of grandmothers and great grandmothers who were married off when they were still teenagers. Life was hard back then. Resources were scarce. A teenage boy was an extra farm hand or a strong back to work a part time job and contribute to the family coffee jar. A teenage girl was another mouth to feed. Plus life expectancy was in the 50s so might as well get started on becoming an adult and building a family of your own.
None of this excuses a millionaire MLB player from swimming in the kiddie pool, but standards are different in most of the world. They aren't paying $500 for their daughters to go see Taylor Swift; they're trying to figure out how to raise a daughter on a $500 annual income.

he's super young himself and it's their culture. He deserves a fair hearing imo but zero chance of that.

Is that what happened in the end? Articles even after charges were dropped said he shared images of young girls being sexually abused. If it really was sharing pictures of a 16 year old that could pass for 18 or something, he should sue media that put that in their articles.
