Another good point people are forgetting. Tony may have only had a few seconds before seeing Ward jumping around on the track.

Tony's reputation as a hot head won't help in this situation either.

The fact that he wants to race today, speaks volumes.

Tony's car fishtailed...it wouldn't fishtail without him accelerating.

One way or another, Tony probably won't see any type of jail time. He will spend enough money on a lawyer to get him out of anything like that.

In sprint cars, you have to steer with the throttle, or you could likely flip it. Him hitting the throttle doesn't prove anything really. He could have finally seen Ward after the car in front of him passed and was trying to avoid him, or he could have been trying to scare him. No one really knows but Stewart.

I rewatched it several times as well... I see him going faster than he should. No accelerating before he hits him. When he makes contact, that can make the car do unexpected things. A bump could have made Tony his the gas or swerve...

My point is that people are guessing and assuming based on a noise from who knows where and the behavior of the car after contact. That's not proof of anything. Will there be more information? Sure. But there's nothing in that video that puts Tony totally at fault... at least, not yet.

Supposedly they had an on board camera in his car. As someone said earlier, we will never see that video.

just say you know nothing about racing. A bump can do nothing or send someone spinning, both feel the same to a driver

What I am basing anything on is common sense and no forensics needed.

People say he fishtailed but what happens to the rear end of any car when you turn one way. That's right it goes the opposite way. The faster you turn the faster the back end follows obviously which could have been a simple case of Tony noticing the guy at the last second and trying to avoid the guy jumping around in the middle of the track.

Also it's tony fricking stewert I'm sure he can handle a sprint car at low speeds with ease.

this hot head has decades of experience driving 500 miles races at 200+ MPH just inches off other cars going 200 MPH....... But can't avoid a human being on a sprint car track during a caution? Dude wanted to scare this kid and ended up killing him . This grade of sprint car is pure power to the wheels and he knows it.

Idk. I don't see any swerving or fish tailing until after the collision.

He's at fault, but he'll never be charged with anything... he's a hotheaded douche bag who's temper resulted in another persons death... he probably should go to jail but no way he gets charged.

Zippadelli(sp) even says he will race. Business as usual.

You just killed someone, how can it be business as usual?

Like I said, thats what it looks like to me. He noticed that he was too close at the last second and attempted to gun it and whip the rear end away from him to avoid clipping him, but it was too late.

You don't think these drivers know the difference.

Alright guy... it's okay to be wrong sometimes.

The video doesn't show enough to prove one side or the other. It catches the last half-second.
