Here's what I heard from Vandy fans/sources:

1. This was a direct order from the liberal female AD - there were several players who had kicking experience and offered to kick (as well as student walk-ons) - but she commanded they "make history" against the wishes of the team.

2. Girl can't get FG's and XP's up in time (needs to happen under 2 sec) - they would be blocked because she is slow with low trajectory so they nixed that idea in practice.

3. Girl can't kick KO's deep enough for touchback or fair catch so they implemented a plan for the directed pooch kickoff we saw.

4. It was a publicity stunt, and 99% of the players and coaches are embarrassed about it, regardless of what they say to the press (but nobody holds it against the girl)

That’s one way to look at it. She also could have inspired many young girls to continue to work hard in sports. I know my 10 year old niece thought it was pretty cool.

I mean that’s great that your young girl took inspiration. But we all know females will not actually ever play football with guys. Why lie to them?

Never thought hiring a super lib black woman AD would make your football team turn into a pathetic laughing stock.

Pretty embarrassing.

Big props to Missouri defense for not allowing her to get a shot at a FG or extra point. Had she hit one, she would of been Person of the year for time, people, etc.

Who will be the chump team she gets a fg or xtra point against?

Virtue Signaling.

Would not have an issue if this is truly the best they can offer after the injuries, but based on that one kick-off I find it hard to believe they don't have anyone else who could do better.

Didn't Vany have an opportunity for her to kick a 40 yarder...?

Why didn't they let her try...?

She wouldn't have gotten it to the end zone. She was struggling to make 25 yard FGs in warmups.

It would have been way more entertaining if Vandy managed to score just one fricking TD

FU

MU already has enough shite in their history(5th down, kickball, etc), besides bad football, we don't need another, especially one like this.

Let georgia be that school.

Another thing is, people act like kickers are linebackers or something. There are some buff kickers but it's rare; a lot of kickers aint exactly the people you want to make a tackle, male or female but when returners get past the coverage kickers are asked to make a tackle and often it doesn't look pretty and they get laid out by blockers sometimes.

If the argument is if a women got hit like male kickers do sometimes that it would fall on the coach for putting her in that position when they literally never do that for male kickers, then you're literally admitting females should get different treatment, which goes against this whole inclusion movement.

Let her kick deep and if the returner just so happens to get past the coverage then she has arms and legs to run and make a tackle. It aint like kicker tackles are jacked up, they're usually shoe strings anyway.

This whole farce just showed that we don't trust women to do a man's job properly. I'd be a lot more content if they let her just drill it. You know, like an actual kicker would.

The best part of the whole thing is the halftime shows not even showing her full kick

She did drill it. If you watched FGs in warmups, that was about as far as she could kick it.

The inclusion movement is a farce. If she kicked off, Missouri broke one, and she got injured after a big hit, Mason would be fired on the spot and whoever hit her would probably have been immediately suspended.

First off, I addressed that there are buff kickers out there. It aint the norm though.

I mean Mason should be fired even if this thing never happened, he's just a shite coach. But the fact that if his female kicker took a hit would get him in hot water whereas a male kicker getting put on his arse would just be something the sports world would laugh at is all you need to know about the double standards and that it's not about actual performance, just trying to be on the next edition of trivial pursuit.

Any return would have leaned that she would have been tricked and possibly hurt by a blocker.

They did not want her blocked or have to attempt to tackle

I am sure the women’s soccer coach made clear that they did not want her hurt.
