If there were men's college soccer scholarships available at every college in the country you can bet your butt there would be more boys pursuing that opportunity.

So yeah, Title 9 is holding men's soccer back. Look what those college opportunities have done for USA women's soccer.

Hell, remember how much fricking hype Freddy Adu got...

The US has "potential" to be great. But we seem to struggle with developing talent in soccer. All our elite athletes play basketball or football and soccer is left to the Braxtons.

The NCAA needs to fully challenge title IX to allow all schools to have men's soccer programs. We can't allow all of our athletes to switch sports or get lost in the sauce playing overseas when they are not ready.

I also have the same argument for hockey. American born players would dominate the NHL in talent and numbers if D1 college hockey was more available.

Title 9 holds that sport back too.

Landon Donovan is correct too. Soccer now exists at rec departments and schools everywhere but is still being coached by dads who don’t know anything about it, never played, and don’t watch it. It’s still at least another generation away

Any US Sport that requests its games to be played in San Francisco over Houston Philadelphia or New York is soft.

Eagles fans friggin hit Santa clause with snow balls.

Houston with the roof open and the euros are falling over.

That’s why soccer is what it is in this country
