How is he overrated? He is a good fighter and well liked but it’s not like people are comparing him to the UFC greats.

Someone did say he was the best in the world for a period.

I don’t even think Paddy should be getting the title shot next. Maybe the UFC knows it would sell big in Europe?

Lightweight division is stacked. There might be bad blood, but no reason paddy should be jumping over Arman, Gaethje, hooker, gamrot, etc.

I’m just ready for the ufc to stop giving guys title shots off of 1 win. The two tonight got smoked. Let these young guys that are going on runs get in the mix. Gaethje should have to fight someone else. He is 4-3 in his last 7 including getting brutally knocked out by a 145er

Charles got a title shot because of one win or because hes one of the greats?

Gaethje vs Arman made a lot of sense for a title eliminator, but they both thought they deserved the next shot.

I guess they go Paddy vs Topuria and then the winner of Arman/Gaethje, if they do it

If Paddy had fought Oliviera last night, the result wouldve been the same.
Paddy would have knocked Charles out cold in the first round? Paddy has never won by knockout punch. Charles has never been knocked out cold like that.

Paddy will beat Topuria. Paddy is too big for him. He will smother Topuria. Styles make fights and Paddy is the right kind of opponent to take down Topuria.
Yes, and Topuria was just going to look like a weak little midget against Charles before Topuria sent him to the shadow realm last night. Bobby Green and Michael Chandler means Paddy is going to smother Topuria? Are you willing to bet the house on Paddy beating Topuria?

Paddy/Topuria will sell more tickets. Don't think Paddy is ready, but I have a feeling he will do better than a lot of people are expecting

Rogan forced the Paddy thing. TKO is going to do what they want not what Rogan setup. Could be Paddy, but you could let Ilia finish his legends KO run and further cement his star with the Justin matchup.

Let Arman/Paddy fight in a title eliminator. Ilia called them both out anyway.

Ilia is on an all time run. He faced off against Volk, Max, and Oliviera back to back to back and slept all 3 of them. Dude’s striking is ELITE.

Can you Define high level bjj black belt. For me that’s Roger Gracie or Marcelo Garcia. Now I’d say however he has good bjj skills for mma though

Do you know if he has won any major ibjjf championships or competed in any adcc qualifiers?

For you, high level means you have to be an all time great.

If you look at his career he was submitting everyone before he got to the ufc.

He trained wrestling while living in Georgia so that made a good transition to bjj

Gonna be interesting to see who he fights next. Dana didn’t really seem committed to anything. He shite on gaethje saying he should retire if that’s what he is talking about. Made a big deal about them letting paddy in the cage, then talked about how Arman fricked up his title shot. Hilarious considering some of the guys that have received title shots lately.

Me personally I think paddy makes the most sense even though I think Arman is true most deserving. Arman can fight gaethje or hooker on the same card and be official backup.

The glazing from Rogan and DC over fighters they like was too much last night. They are like Jimmy Fallon gushing over fighters they like.

I wasn't going to mention it, but I was re-watching Topuria-Charles and the whole time Rogan is trying to set the narrative that Topuria is dealing with a different level of strength and skill in Charles at lightweight.

Then Rogan says 'But there's a difference already in how Charles is absorbing these shots', and immediately after that Topuria knocks Charles out cold. Kind of a reverse Anik 'not the cloth from which he is cut' before Leon head kicked Usman.
