Nightengale apologized but said he sees his friends go through so much racism that it’s easy to believe so not much of an apology

I bet you anything they do change the mascot name. I don’t care if it’s a shite mascot or not, I just think any change because of mob mentality is crap.

Astros radio broadcaster Robert Ford pulled the same stunt on twitter. These innocent people getting run over on twitter and the outside world are pawns in their quest for justice.

Ill pony up $100 for every public scenario of some honky screaming the n word at the top of their lungs in the last 20 years. that stupid frick from Florida has already cost me

on the flip side, every time an accusation of this exact scenario turns out to be false, I get $100

look out Bezos. I’m coming for you

I can’t imagine how hard it is for you not to be able to virtue signal towards a black athlete. You look up to them so much, and for this seeming opportunity to be snatched from you might be too much for you to handle.

Lol, it’s whiny & sad you took the time to actually post something so cringe

It’s just a platform for mob mentality. No one has the patience for evidence. People just jump straight to the pitchfork mode ASAP since it’s a competition for these people to virtue the fastest and loudest. And that’s including this Nightengale guy who abused his position to falsely accused an innocent man and be judge/jury/executioner.

Now that we've yet again solved racism in this thread, we should start a conversation on whether it's socially acceptable for grown men to interact with the mascot

Eh, he clarified it a little bit in the full interview. Said if he was calling the mascot, he hopes the guy isn’t wrongly accused and whatnot.

That's not clarifying.

Let us accuse a black person of a crime.
Then be shown it wasn't him that committed the crime, and the only apology I give is that I see so much crime by blacks that I could have believed the guy still did it.

Not even remotely an apology, more like a claim that not just the one black will commit crime, but all blacks commit crime.

Nightingale would have been better off by saying nothing at all.

This. I obviously heard the word dinger. The other word is disgusting but free speech is crumbling in our society. The repercussions of that will be enormous. Mob rule.

Just saw that. Brinson still hears the n-word after watching video

You can’t even have video proof and be innocent anymore once they deem you guilty

They really do want to incite hatred

Yall need to read the article. I had the same reaction.

And then I read Brinson talking about how he's never heard that said to his face in any setting (ESPN - "what! it happens daily!"), and how if he is saying Dinger then he feels bad about the flack the guy is getting.

It's a pretty nuanced and decent statement. It's just that ESPN isn't going to run with anything but the most controversial part of his comments.

He was trying to get a picture for his daughter. Lots of grown men interact with mascots, they're part of atmosphere and great for kids.

It’s pretty scary when you think about the fact that you could just go about your day and suddenly look down at your phone to notice you have a few notifications. Turns out suddenly the world thinks you’re a racist POS. Journalists are calling for your arrest. Celebrities are trying to dox you. Your favorite sports team has put out a statement calling for an investigation into you. The worst part is you did absolutely nothing to deserve it.
