Aikman is an argument. Carter is not. And Martin is deserving too.

Whoa dude...... Grant was a great great coach.....The Viking teams of the late 60's and early 70;s were some of the best all-time.. I understand they lost all those SB;s but the respect and records speak for themselves....

OJ???? You can't be serious.... He played on some really shitty teams and the D knew what was coming and still had trouble stopping him.. The guy was a joy to watch and was tough as hell....

OJ on that list is ridiculous

I agree. I think the writer went back and edited his article to mark a line through OJ's name. He said he wouldn't put OJ in the hall, but that's only based on his murder trial. He said OJ deserves it based on his on the field mastery

FWIW, I think OJ should be in the hall. He was technically found innocent in his criminal trial, and you can't call the guy guilty when he's been proven innocent

it's just humorous to me how many people will argue that you can't be the GOAT at anything without titles. even in the modern era. if you've ever said a certain player isn't elite because he hasn't won title, then you've given up your right to argue Aikman not being in the hall

Grant being on the list is just stupid.

It's the Pro football Hall of Fame, Grant won:
-the Grey Cup 4 times, in 6 trips to the Grey Cup
-won the NFL Championship in '69 (final championship game prior to the merger)
-made it to the SuperBowl four times
-from 1968 to 1980 his Vikings won the NFC Central every season with the exception of 72 & 79
-260 wins (158 in the NFL)

He might not have won a Super Bowl but he did win an NBA title with the Lakers.

Because results matter. Troy Aikman had a better completion rate during playoffs than many other elite QBs. A 63.75% completion rate during 502 pass attempts that produced over 3800 yards during his career isn't too shabby. Ultimately he's historically a top 10 post-season QB.

Aikman's QB Rating in the playoffs on those three Superbowl teams.

1992 - 126
1993 - 104
1995 - 106

Dude was nails when it counted.

Aikman was a game manager but a great one. I loathe the Cowboys but he was very, very good for them and I don't think he's undeserving. If the Cowboys' game plan was working, Aikman wasn't supposed to throw the ball that much at all, anyway.

I can't wait to see the Troy Aikman responses.

They are basically the case that the author made for Namath: Handsome, classy, face of the most popular franchise in America, etc.

Nonsense. Namath and Aikman aren't really comparable. Please don't make me defend Troy Aikman

I loved Aikman when I was growing up but I do think that he is in the HoF mostly because as a group the "triplets" were HoF level and he was obviously an integral part. They made each other great. As far as his personal stats, touchdown to int ratios were not that great back then. Look at Brett Favre most of his career.

He wasn't proven innocent, so not sure if serious. Definite HOFer though.

Is the writer really arguing Moon shouldn't be in the Hall because he threw the ball a lot in a different era? Why should his numbers be held to present day standards?

I'd also love to know which punters he thinks are better if Guy is "average".

I though OJ was in the Hall long before he killed Ron and Nicole. Are they saying the Hall should go back and remove someone based on actions that occurred long after their playing career ended?

Anybody that thinks Terry Bradshaw does not belong in the HOF is a clueless idiot when it comes to pro football.

Not even the best running back on his own team. But he's still not as overrated as Namath.

1000 yd seasons back in the day was quite a feat for WR's.

They didn't throw the ball no where nearly as much then. Plus the way rules favor QB and WR's much more now than then. The defense actually got to play defense back then.
