I can agree with all except Chris Carter and Marcus Allen. The TDs those scored can't be shirked off.

Ray Guy was the greatest punter ever until Shane Lechler came along and Bob Hayes is the reason zone coverage exists. Cris Carter is top 5-10 in EVERY relevant receiving statistic and never missed a game. Troy Aikman was arguably the third best postseason QB ever behind Montana and Brady.

The Marcus Allen stat argument is also misleading, he spent YEARS in Oakland under the cloud of favoritism and internal strife. He went whole games not getting touches because of coach/owner spite. He also had to split carries with Bo Jackson for several years.

What the frick is this guy talking about?

Aikman stepped up? Do you mean he just didn't fall over on his face? That's all he had to do in order too win.

So Steve Young had the same type of talent around him... Should he not be in like you say Aikman should not be in????????/ I mean Young only won one SB......

For some reason, especially with QB's, people think that being on a Super Bowl team makes Ine a great player. I'll take Dan Marino and his zero Super Bowl wins over Aikman and his three any day of the week.

Harry Carson and Joe Namath benefit big time from playing in NY. Neither should even approach the HOF.

Troy Aikman was really famous so it makes sense to have him in the hall of fame.

There is not a single person on the planet who thinks Aikman was better than Marino. They are both hall of famers and should be. You don't have to be the best ever to be in the HOF, just good enough.

you can't call the guy guilty when he's been proven innocent

That's not how the legal system works. The burden of proof is on the state. He wasn't "proven innocent". He "wasn't proven guilty".

And it was a fricking debacle and he has basically admitted to doing it.

Still should be in the HofF though.

Cris Carter not worthy

Cris Carter being on that list makes no sense. Maybe the writer got burned by him at some point.

Broadway Joe was not that great a player, Elway was much better, but there have been better QBs out there. It does seem easier for a QB to make it as they are the rock stars of the NFL.

Super Bowl XXIV says you are wrong, Joe Montana threw 5 TDs and Bill Walsh wasn't the coach.

Wasn't that team 13-3 or something crazy like that? I believe that team lost Fuller even during the New England game, for a career.

In general, I agree with most of the picks.

But he is way Way WAAAAAYYY wrong about Ray Guy.

Ray Guy was pretty much a Pro Bowler every year of his LONG career and is acknowledged by just about everyone as the best punter of all-time, or at least for the first 75 years of the NFL.

What about five years later, when George won another one.
He won that Super Bowl with, as you would say,

Mediocre qb at best.

That 49'er team was probably the best Niner team that won. I think they were better than the 15-1 team.

WHOA.. When did I ever say Young was mediocre?????????

Just telling a poster that thinks that Aikman should NOT be in the HOF because of the talent around him... Young had the same kind of talent. So was asking poster if Young should be there.........

That's all...Young was a real good QB........

1989 Niners>>>>>> 1994 Niners........... Just a little better.... NO team would have beaten the '89 niners that day they played the Broncos... There were a couple teams that could have beaten the Young led team that season from the AFC that year...........
